Went on the train to Southport yesterday, and I noticed that once you come off the platform, one of the first thing you see is a sign advertising Southport's upcoming home fixtures.
I wonder if this is something we could consider at Chester Station? Huge footfall every day, and a visible reminder that the city does have a semi-pro, fans' run football club.
It probably helps Southport's cause that Merseyrail sponsors their ground, but Chester is part of the Merseyrail network and anything going on in the city encourages people to use the trains, so maybe they'd be receptive to the suggestion?

They used to have billboards on each of the A-roads entering the town, with their up coming fixtures on - not sure if they still do but seems easy way of getting the message out...

Will speak to the club and see if this is a viable idea.

Will speak to the club and see if this is a viable idea. Good man. Like I say, Southport's partnership with Merseyrail might help them, but no harm in trying.

Southport have a board on the Formby bypass. Have often thought that with so many main entrances to the city we could advertise forthcoming games in about eight locations. The railway station idea is excellent. It's a costant daily reminder to commuters.

Chester Station is operated by Arriva Trains Wales so it would have to be them on board with it.

The fixtures could go next to the poster at the top of the stairs on the bridge for Chester Races 12th June meeting!!!! :-)

Martin Huxley used to do monthly fixture list posters which were great. The old commercial manager said that she had tried to distribute them across town but nobody would display them...
I tried to contact the University and Countess to see if anyone there would display them but got no response. I even edited the poster to include the student price and sent it to the Uni and they never replied. Never tried anywhere else to be honest after that.
I thought it would be a good idea if at the start of every month the club could just send the poster to the university campuses, the countess, pubs etc etc for them to display, but it appears you need have contacts or put in a bit of work.
