Does anyone know what happens when an ex employee gets another job? Do we still have to continue paying up his contract? In the case of McCarthy, what if he gets the Southport job?

Yes we will still have to as when Steve Burr had a job at Southport we were still paying him off at the time.

You can “come to an agreement “ , ie a lump sum in lieu of salary. You can pay the contract off in full - no one does that, or you can continue to pay the employee off until he finds another job. I am surprised to learn that we were still paying Burr even when he got another job
I hope that there are “ongoing” discussions with JM in order to reach an agreement, however should he be appointed at Southport, and I wish him all the best he is a hard worker , decent bloke and will have learnt from us, then any payments we may be making from us to him should cease if they haven’t already. To put it simply, the clubs play hardball with their ex employee in the vast number of similar situations

My understanding is that the employee can’t take up another job while he’s still under contract so he & the club would have to mutually agree a settlement figure when he’s released or when he wants to take up a new role. Not 100% sure though.
