Have things got any better under Bignot ?

I'm fully aware you're trying to find wind people up, but I thought I'd answer your question anyway.

Yes, things are infinitely better. We now have a manager who is furious at what he has seen and pulls no punches about it. He's seen enough in 4 games to push us towards moving full time and clearly sees the shortcomings of the squad and the need for 'pacy' and 'powerful' players, something we've been crying out for.

We finally have a manager who has his eyes wide open and knows what needs to be done. At the start of the season we had a man so criminally out of his depth, who genuinely believed in his own delusional ramblings.

I seldom if ever feel able to agree with anything whopper3 says, particularly the manner in which he says it. However I have seen no evidence that Marcus Bignot possesses anymore ability to get better performances out of this bunch, or even to come up with tactical formations or changes to improve things. Yes Marcus is now shouting the odds and will undoubtedly rightly upset a few squad members, but he knew the score in terms of squad content and lack of available funds. We can all identify the apparent shortcomings such as lack of pace, power and even basic skills. Do I have any confidence that Marcus can turn it around? No. Are things worse at the moment in terms of performance? Yes. Can he unload a lot of this contracted squad? No. Will any modest funds raised by owners and fans be enough to make a real difference? In my opinion unlikely. We are I feel in for a rough ride. The full time/part time argument is complex. There are good examples where part time teams have done well in this league with the right management and recruitment. Full time doesn't bring any guarantees other than greater outlay. Ask Wrexham and Tranmere. For me player recruitment has been a real issue for us since we regained our national league status, and this year has proved to be no different. I hope to be proved wrong but I fear relegation, is almost inevitable.

Bignot doesn't have to pick the players who are shit week in week out. I would rather see some rookie 16 year kid have a go than some of the more senior gutless pro's.

You can't just chuck in 16 year olds in the National League? You'll get more effort but there will be more defeats which won't do their confidence any good will it?

We pay experienced people (I'm struggling to refer to them as "footballers" tonight) to do a job for us, we shouldn't have to turn to the youth team. They ought to be ashamed of themselves tonight. They need to really turn this around. The fans have made their feelings known, I'm sure the manager will do aswell. Sadly, I fear relegation is inevitable but all of this was so avoidable.

As regards your view of Bignot, I think you may be alone in that. 

My views on Bignot are shared by quite a few fans actually. He was not the answer.

Our supposed record playing budget was pissed up the wall by McCarthy on a small and inbalanced squad of mercenaries and now Bignot is expected to instantly turn it around.

He’s already been told there is no money available and said that he will have to go begging to other clubs for favours, like he’s done with Derby for the new striker.

I’m sure he’s as pissed off as the fans on today’s defeat and missing out on any prize money that would have helped.
