Surely we’re going to offer some kind of incentive for people to do both Saturday V Borehamwood and Tuesday V Barrow?
Both games for £20? Bring a mate for free V Barrow?
After the response at full time yesterday, it’s clear there are lots of pissed off fans right now. A little gesture here would go a long way and hopefully avoid a 1200-1300 gate against Barrow.

Completely agree, fans have forked out a lot with Tranmere, Kiddie in amongst them god awful long trips in September. We have been rewarded with very little back and it's the time McGuire and the other people at the club stopped the talking and done something to get fans in the crowd as that is the bread and butter. We have a database don't we? McGuire keeps telling us. Well bloody use it and spread the word for this deal for the two games. That barrow game will be our lowest game since reformation guaranteed if we stand and do nothing.

You don't actually think our club is able to come up with an incentive, market it well and get a few bums on seats do you? It has been clear for the last 4 seasons that this is beyond them. A few half-hearted attempts which are poorly marketed is about the best we have had to offer. I'd like to think there were board members charged with this type of thing but it seems not.

We need to do something
Yesterday has set us back a long, long way, not just the financial aspect but the goodwill factor has been destroyed at a stroke.
Of course, myself and others will attend through thick and thin because we live in hope but the occasional or floating fan will now be thinking "why bother?"

Usually when one or two say about a deal on here the club sometimes do something but bar that nothing. Friend of mine who has been a few times last time asked me were they doing any kids with adults for cheap behind the goal as there kids really enjoyed it. Not so much the game but meeting players for photos, autographs etc. I genuinely had no reply, didn't have a clue as not heard them doing anything like it. It really gives us the impression that the club isn't arsed, they will do something now. What happened to the community hub section for adults to take kids in for cheap? Is this even still going? Last I heard they were deciding whether to keep it going or not. Presume they haven't as heard nothing but who knows. Massive apathy in terms of match day experience, what do we do half time? Before the game can't we have what Tranmere do every week with fans zone etc. Fans are suggesting things but nothing gets done. Is it a lack of man power/volunteer, if so why don't the club say or are they to proud. If they can't implement these ideas then why not. Regards the board two people didn't get on recently, surely they should be co-opted on as they are willing to help. We have seen recently how board members have dropped surely we can't turn people away.

Goes back to NWAS's idea that board members should be filing a monthly report on their work. I would like to see what these pair would justify. The only marketing that ever seems to be done is via Jim Green and the Community Trust.

You can't polish a turd! National league football is a pretty hard sell, mainly because we have reached our natural level. People turn up to watch a winning team and some good entertainment both if which we lack at the moment. This situation was always on the cards ever since we have reformed. Why people like yourself are surprised by it amazes me.

I think its defeatist to say this is our natural level, we spent over 100 years in the league. There are smaller clubs that are in the league now.

Do we bury our heads in the sand, accept that National League football isn't Premier League standard, and watch crowds continue to diminish towards the 1,000 mark? What impact would that have on the future of our club? As a fan's owned, community club we should be doing far more to market fixtures, offer deals and make the whole matchday experience more inspiring. Yes that can only go so far when our squad is what it currently is and results are what they are, but just to accept it is criminal and at one with the whole apathy that stains our football club.

I buy my season tkt, seals lottery etc haven't got time to do much more. What are you doing Tarvin apart from constantly criticising the club from behind a keyboard? There is a lot of finger pointing but no action from the keyboard warriors. As per usual, stupid me for logging in😀

The lazy 'why don't you do it yourself?' argument. I do all the same things that you do and have little time to do much more. Funnily enough this is why I don't put myself forward for roles on the board. However, other people do as I assume they have the time and capacity otherwise they wouldn't. As I have said many times before, if you are putting yourself forward for a role then you assume the responsibility that goes with it - otherwise don't bother. Considering some people weren't voted on it's hardly as though we are struggling for people to put themselves forwards. When we are in the Conference North, in front of crowds of 1,000, struggling for survival I've no doubt people like you will be surprised, Boughton.

It's the Dagenham game. £30 for an adult and 11 kids, then £3 for additional kids and a tenner for additional adults.

Wasn't aware the deal still stood, I don't think it's on the price list at the turnstile. As for matchday experience, especially for kids, is a bit disappointing. There seems to be more interest in entertaining a 'team of the day' rather than its own supporters. Noticed at Tranmere they had kids waving flags just before kick off, getting kids involved no matter how small is a big deal for them (as evident by the Junion Blues Takeover) When they opened/started the family stand iniative there were a few things going on (player interaction, face painting etc). It was my daughters first game and she was hooked straight away, can't help but think if they did this regularly then they could hook a few more kids going to their first games.

I think we overachieved in the first 3 years and reality is slowly settling in. I remember sub 1000 gates in the league so it will be no suprise to me tarvin. When I have time maybe I will have a look for a positive post from you about the club you follow and its volunteers. Then again, maybe not😀

We had less than a thousand in 1984 against Swindon and Darlington at home we were in the old fourth division. I never mentioned anything about 30 years?
