I had reason to complain to BT Sport in early September regarding the failure to show the Vanarama National League highlights at the scheduled time. I had set to record the highlights and instead of the football, I got American baseball. I rang the BT complaints people who could not explain why they had failed to show the scheduled item. I registered a complaint. I then received an email to say it would be ten working days to respond.
Fast forward a month and I had received no reply. I then emailed them again to ask why they had failed to respond. I have now had three calls from foreign call centre staff, all of whom have been perfectly nice, but I have to admit, I can't understand some of what they say, so strong is their accent. In essence, they argue that it has nothing to do with BT Sport if they fail to deliver the scheduled service. Responsibility, it seems is with the broadcaster. When I suggested that my contract and therefore my expectation of service provision is with them, the line went very quiet.
I'm not a serial moaner, but I only subscribe to this service for Vanarama football and it was the second time they had failed to deliver the scheduled highlights show.
I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this poor service from BT Sport?

TBH it is probably a blessing in disguise to not have to see our "highlights"

There are millions in the world starving, human trafficking, natural disasters, illness, disease and war and you are moaning about not getting to see James Norwood miss another sitter. Give your head a wobble for God's sake. Plus your rant about accents came across as a bit demeaning to be totally honest!

To be honest you could have left the word sport out of your post and just had a go at BT in general.
Would have worked for me.

Hardly a rant as you choose to describe it, but fact none the less in as much as I can't understand some of what they say. They were all perfectly nice people. My head won't be wobbled about simply asking a question. Those world wide human challenges didn't stop you and others from moaning about yesterday's result and performance and rightly so.

You do realise they upload it to their YouTube channel every Monday anyway? Still, it's a reasonable enough complaint, and BT are well-known for being very uncooperative when complaints are directed to them. I don't think it's unreasonable to complain about foreign call centre workers if you genuinely can't understand them. Personally, I don't care whether my local shop is run by English, Polish, Pakistanis or any other nationality, but I can't think of any job where speaking and listening are as important as in a call centre, and to give such jobs to people with a limited command of the language is ridiculous. It's not the call handlers' fault though, it's BT's. They're proud enough to have 'British' in their name, but they care so little about their customers that they take the cheap option and farm call centre jobs out to the other side of the world.

I feel so happy that I took the bother to do that. BT are robbers and fleecers. Their Open Reach guys are ignorant bastards who brag about how much they earn. I saved £25 a month and get a better service from Talk Talk. If I want to watch BT Sport I go to the Bears Paw. I also often get call from the sub-continent telling me they can fix my computer and claim they are BT people. I dread to think how many times they scam older and more vulnerable folk. I contacted BT to ask if I was being scammed and they didn't understand what I was on about. Well rid.

However, I have to say that BT is as unpopular in my household as Jon MaCarthy (former messiah) and his sorry bunch of recruits after yesterday's abysmal "effort". I should also warn you that non-BT "highlights" from Kiddy, are best avoided for Chester fans of an overly sensitive disposition.

I'd echo other sentiments on here, the whole company is a disgrace. One of their badly maintained manholes was sticking out of the pavement outside my house and completely destroyed one of the tyres on my car. They tried to claim it wasn't their property even though the manhole cover had BT engraved onto it. Only when I sent them photos of the cover did they admit that it was their manhole.
Their website claimed they gave compensation for damage caused by their property - you had to claim for this by leaving a message on a voicemail system which they assured you they would respond to. Needless to say they didn't respond over the course of about 3 months and countless voicemail messages.
Strangely enough, once I had left an exceptionally angry voicemail threatening to do the equivalent amount of damage to property of theirs, low and behold they got back to me the next day and paid for the damage to my car. Morons.

Richard may I suggest next time that you go straight through to the cancellation department and tell them you're not happy with the service for the reasons mentioned, and if it doesn't improve you'll be cancelling. The reason I suggest this, is because you'd be amazed at how many times when you ring somewhere with regards ending a service, terminating a contract etc, they put you through to someone in this country who you can actually understand and who isn't just reading off a script either.

Richard, I have experienced mega problems with BT, mainly due to inefficient, unhelpful staff who did everything possible to ignore my problem. Ultimately (as a last resort) I contacted Libby Barr (MD at BT Customer Care) via email. She contacted me, and appointed her PA to address and resolve my problem. I have to say that the service I received following her involvement was absolutely brilliant. If you would like her email address, them please message me.

Give your head a wobble for God's sake. Plus your rant about accents came across as a bit demeaning to be totally honest! I often speak to Eon on the phone whose callcentre is in Scotland and I don't understand them either, I suppose that's a bit demeaning aswell. Stop moaning.
