Confirmed that 400 jobs will be cut at Vauxhall by the end of the year due to "challenging European markets"
Not exactly what Ellesmere Port needs.

PSA will take the jobs to France, they are basically state owned so will look after their own.

I have worked in PSA franchised car dealers for 30 plus years PSA is not state owned as far as I have been told It is I believe around 30 million euros in the red Due to EU rules the French government CANNOT provide financial assistance, and the group [Peugeot Citroen] is losing around 5% of its business year on year How this loss making company managed to aquire another loss making company and expect to turn it around is beyond me, however the new Vauxhall Grandland and crossland are fitted with Peugeot mechanicals, and are the result of a collaberation between PSA and GM announced some time ago As has been said they will close the Ellesmere Port factory, and move jobs to France as they did when they shut Ryton [Coventry]
