To paraphrase the great Jim Bowen
"Let's see what we could have won"
Kiddie have drawn Fylde away
Oh, what could have been!

Was thinking that, in normal times, a reasonable but not great chance to progress or force a replay.
Unfortunately, these are not normal times

Technically the number of the balls would have been different had us and Wrexham got into the first round.......... But I understand where you are all coming from. I'm beginning to think getting knocked out wouldn't have been too bad after all! Imagine playing them lot twice in one week (hypothetically speaking, of course!) the Old Bill would have had their work cut out and we'd have been scrounging around looking for two loads of scrap.

At least we only miss out on going somewhere we already get to go, and Fylde would have murdered us!

Imagine playing them lot twice in one week (hypothetically speaking, of course!) the Old Bill would have had their work cut out and we'd have been scrounging around looking for two loads of scrap. I'm afraid you're wrong there. Both ourselves and Wrexham would have retained the same numbers. Whichever teams enter that round are given numbers 1-48 alphabetically (Accrington No.1 & Yeovil 48). Then all those after that go on the order the ties were drawn in previous round draw. Same will happen in 3rd round, when the prem/champ teams join. Although with things like the butterfly effect, it's possible things could unfold slightly differently. Ie, Dean Saunders rumages the balls slightly differently after hearing Wrexham were to be drawn at home.
