Jones, Crawford and Zanzala should all start on Saturday, in place of a few of the underachieving journeymen, who should be embarrassed to pick up a wage packet.
Discuss.

I expect a reaction from the first team players. Get Jones, Crawford etc on if the game goes on and nothing has changed

It's a tough one and a difficult and risky call for Marcus to take - I keep going back to the maidenhead game though when every player played well so I would at this stage just tweek it slightly but definitely play Zanzala no question

I would prefer to see youngsters playing for the shirt.rather than an ineffective Hannah toiling for 90 minutes or Halls giving backpasses that an 18 stone Sunday league player would be embarrassed by.

Also this is the most experienced squad we have had and probably the worst. Give youth a go.

As bad as Saturday was, it's important to remember it was only one game - so no wholesale changes for me. Maybe the odd bit of tinkering, but give the players a chance to get last week out of their system.

Let's try to set aside the disastrous cup exit and we have 3 games 4 points from Marcus Bignot - win the next 2 at home and it will look very impressive we can hope

That's why he's brought him in. Hannah appears to be injured again, and White can't play more than 60 minutes. It's a year too early for Jones, imo. He's a good prospect, who looks likely to be able to play at this level. He's not as strong yet, as he'll need to be. He often tries to nick the ball, and gets held off and turned. He'd have the strength to do that in a Youth game, it not the National League. The odd sub appearance, and start as the season goes on, unless it's a real dog fight for points to stay up. I actually think McCombe is a decent centre half, but not an ideal partner for Astles. After saying all that, you don't know until you put him in. Not sure how is the time to do it. I've not seen Crawford play much, so can't comment. I would have thought Waters would be the better player at this time. Waters was brilliant in the Youth, and has always looked as if he'd make the step up, but hasn't. On that basis, I can't see Crawford being ready. Remember these young lads would be coming into a struggling side. MB said he wants Pace and Power as we haven't really got any. Our young lads won't provide that.

Saw Jones play during pre season and whilst he's got potential I do think he needs to get in the gym and bulk up a bit. A loan spell in the Evo Stik or the Welsh Prem up against the likes of Les Davies would do him the world of good. Its a bit easy to say throw the kids in but the way we are playing it could end up harming their development. Ideally you want us to be in a more comfortable situation and giving them 15/20 minutes here and there to see how they get on. Chucking them in a struggling team under pressure for results isn't ideal, and perhaps we'd be better served in seeing if Bignot's approach since the Kiddie game can get a reaction out of the senior pro's.

Anyone who saw Matty Waters' display on Saturday should know throwing the youth in the deep end isn't the answer.
I was buzzing when I saw he was starting on Saturday, playing a mid-table team in the league below with our team in half decent form, but in hindsight it was a total mistake and has probably damaged his confidence quite a bit.
The way the season's going, these lads will probably only get their chance in Cheshire Senior Cup games, as the league games will be too important.

Aye, need a little bit of perspective even Sam Hughes needed his Witton spell to really come on.

Maybe just throw the kids in as subs for now. Mcombe's 90 minute days are coming to an end so maybe give jones some time coming off the bench when we're two or three down.
