This Month is Breast Cancer month and it's recently been Mcmillan week so I was wondering why we don't play our part anymore ? We had a couple of seasons where we played in pink and made it a real family occasion and of course giving some funds to these worthy charities- I and many fans have been touched by this awful disease and would love to help if something could be arranged.

This is what has been missing at the club the last couple of years is the community feel and doing charitable things like the pink game and other things, I don't know the cost of having special pink kits manufactured for just the one game, maybe puma wouldn't not allow that with the current puma deal ?, maybe that's why it hasn't happened for last couple of seasons ?. Either way things like that were fantastic when we first reformed, would love to see it back. And half time entertainment.

File it alongside things like half-time interviews, pre-match entertainment, Lupus the wolf, etc etc etc. We come across as just your bog standard plodding Conference team these days.

The work, care and support our NHS give those and those families affected by cancer is unreal.
If we can all do our bit by returning to the Think Pink day, or by doing some fundraising in association with local charities such as Claire House or Mcmillan, or just raising funds for a local hospital department then that for me would be brilliant.
It’s taken two grandparents my best friend when he was 32, and my partner has given it her all to fight it as well.
If a board member is reading this. Please sort a return of a special fundraising day for charity.

Al very well put and my circumstances are similar to yours without going into detail - somewhere along the line we seem to have lost the direction of a true community club and this Pink Day was a fantastic way to help and unite fans and families - can this be brought back next season maybe

Agree with this. In the early days it seemed like at every game, there would be at least something going on aside from the match itself.
Chester v Boreham Wood on its own is a little hard to sell. Some sort of undercard, like a themed day or an appearance from a club legend, is a small thing that can really help.
That's aside from the more important fact that cancer research and the Pink campaign are very good causes to support.

Would us being in the National League have any affect on whether we can wear one off shirts? The club not doing it seems to coincide with our last promotion. Not that it stops the club still running an awareness themed day and just having fans wear pink etc. It was great when the club did it previously, really set us apart as a 'community club'. We even sold little pink pin badges with the club badge on.
It's frustrating because we used to do it and it's something we did fairly well, embrace the community and bring fans together. Just feels like we've become complacent and are happy with what we currently have (fanbase and league position)

Maybe the board member in charge of marketing can clarify? Just imagine, a current member of this board having to explain themselves to the great unwashed

Just imagine, a current member of this board having to explain themselves to the great unwashed Would be absolutely fascinating to see just what has been done on the "marketing" and "communication" portfolios in the last six months. Looking at the minutes from board meetings on the CFU website, I'd suggest the answer would be not very much at all.

Some of us have continually called for monthly (or at least quarterly) updates from each and every board member specifically concerning their individual portfolios, the ultimate yearly objective(s) and any interim targets within that portfolio, their performance in relation to those targets/objectives and any reasons why their performance may not be meeting those targets. This is something I have been suggesting for at least two years. Call it an appraisal by us, the owners of the business.

Don't you mean my post? Ha! Well, you've got a reputation to follow up now, Star Letter writer. Come on, get scribbling! If it helps, I find Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V quicker than highlighting text and right-clicking it.

Maybe the board member in charge of marketing can clarify? It would surely fall more within the remit of the community trust rather than board members of the football club? I'd suggest asking someone from the trust.

Maybe this thread could be forwarded to Jim Green and a date be sorted for this? Was talking to a fellow former board member about this thread earlier today, and Think Pink, Lupus, Armed Forces day etc could all be relaunched with little effort from this new board alongside the Community Trust.
It would also help bring back a little of the "in it all together" feeling that the club seems to have lost a little of.

We've got no home shirts to sell this season so we've got no chance of puma doing us a one off pink kit

I would love for the club to play in pink for Breast Cancer awareness and charity. I was impressed with the club for doing this in the first place but inthe last year my wife has had breast cancer and I have truly realised the importance of such community actions as well as being very impressed with the care she has received from our wonderful NHS.
I live near Nottingham now and I note the community involvement of Forest and County locally, all clubs should have a community involvement, especially ours as it is fans own and because of its size dependent totally on a local fan base.
Anything we can do to support this or other charities such as prostate cancer are marvellous community spirited actions for our club.
