In Britain, when a goal goes in and the crowd cheers, you can hear them say the word "yeah", which is what we tend to say when we score.
In other leagues like La Liga, the noise is different - it's more like 'woah', but what is it they're actually saying? Do they shout 'si', 'oui', 'ja' or whatever, or is responding to a goal with the affirmative purely an English language thing?

I find it weird how it’s such a low pitched crowd celebration when they score in foreign leagues

I've been to a few games in Serie A and Ligue 1 over the past few years and to be honest couldn't hear a difference when a goal went in. Of course they have their own chants and songs and rituals etc. At Milan I liked the way the stadium announcer would read the first name of each player out and the crowd would respond with the surname. They did that at Nantes earlier this season as well.

Is the word ' Goal' used internationally or do different nations use alternative words - just wondering and bored. |
