Maguire sanctioned the ludicrous McCarthy contract extension. He should have been sacked for that alone.
99% of new Managers get a bounce in results short term regardless of how shite the players are.
We have had a bounce in the wrong direction.

Really can't believe that you think Brrow would do be a good choice as a manager for us. He had one good season for us and has done nothing in his managerial career since. Ok he got a lucky break with getting a coaching job with his buddy at Wigan and has been living off that ever since. Not manager material at all. |

It seems a long time ago now, but someone should have told Darren Kelly that- taking over from Neil Aspin at The Shay, he lost his first game 7-1. He said afterwards, "I promise you that will never happen again". He lost his third game 7-0, and further games 4-0, 6-3 & 3-0, with 4 of those 5 games being at home. Most of us don't understand how he lasted 10 games, before he too was given the boot. Too late to save us going down, a point short of Guiseley.
I hope you can turn it round, can't have Chester going down while shit like Guiseley survive, again. Send 'em down boys.

The main issue as I see it is this whole fan owned nonsense which has filled the club with self congratulating amateurs who's biggest ambition every season is to finish 5th from bottom. We were always going to reach a level where investment is a requirement to progress but "oh no!!!!!! we can't do that!!!!! lets go down to the Conference North and keep our non existent achievements together!!!!"
Being fan owned is fine s long as the fans have the necessary finances in place which ours clearly haven't.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion. God knows we're all hurting, angry and frustrated but is there a point in going on and on and on about it. We can all say a manager won't succeed because eventually he will get binned and then we can all say 'I told you so'. But surely this manager is doing the job with his right and left arms tied behind his back? I've criticised some of his decisions but I've also said his mistakes have been made in trying to give everybody at the club a chance. He has one hell of a job on his hands because this team is soulless.

Have you, for a moment, thought that rather than "taking" you down your new manager may not be able to prevent it? Or that it might actually be better in the long run for the club to go down and regroup, and win games, at a lower level? The fans may flood back in droves with a winning team, assembled by MB when he gets the chance. Anyway good luck for your upcoming fixtures.
