Who are the four players who allegedly can't commit to the extra days training? Been told they can go so I've heard on the Harry Mac today. Imagine Ross Hannah will be one. Maybe our friends over the border were correct with what they were saying regarding his commitment. Just sums up the mentality and everything that's wrong with this squad of players, no passion or commitment for the shirt, just here for the money.

Id guess Hannah, shaw and Mahon are three of them.

Let's hope its the four worst players in the side. Couldn't possibly. Too much competition for that.

It's one thing telling them they can go and then quite another them actually taking up the offer. Why on earth was McCarthy allowed to set up deals where some players didn't have to commit fully? It's another example of shocking mismanagement by those who should have been placing firm boundaries on a manager who was quite clearly needing them. The only way any will walk away is if they can make up for the income shortfall elsewhere. These mercenaries will keep jogging around and taking home their pay cheques until that day comes.

Tarvin surely it’s not hard to come to this conclusion? I find it beyond reasonable comprehension that we never trained or met the day before a game that didn’t involve any significant distance. Amateur and embarrassing. It’s time an announcement was made to our supporters to acknowledge this awful predicament we are in which was in my opinion totally avoidable.

Realistically MB would be happy for any of these current players to leave. That may free up some cash to bring new players in.
If crowds keep dropping we'll have even less money to throw around than we think. We need 2100 to keep in budget. We'll be lucky to get 1600 soon. That's around £6k short each match. If that continues we'll use up our cash balance by the end of the season, without signing any new players at all.
That leaves us neck deep in the brown stuff before next season has even started. Regardless of which league we are in.

They quite obviously don't realise or don't care that they are the life blood of this club and its survival. Where is their pride? Where is their commitment to the cause?

I'm not sure it's about pride in the shirt etc it's that most are physically not goon enough for example if you put a British Athlet it's vest on me my pride would not see me win 100meters World Championships I'd be floundering wobbling panting and blowing out my arse - get my drift

When Chester first reformed the players new exactly what it meant to play for the club. They held up a Bennett saying “we did it for you”. The higher up the leagues we go the more the connection between fans and players is lost. We as fans still think of those early seasons when we and the players were as one. Now the players are just that and do not fully understand what we as a club are all about. If we had started the season well then this all gets forgotten as League position covers up a whole host of issues. Let’s hope the season can be saved and we can survive again. I for one do worry about our sustainability at this level based upon attendances which have been consistently falling. Let’s keep faith with those in charge to do their best for our club and for us to support them in the good and bad times.

My pride comments are more aimed at the senior players.

Craig Mahon got a kick three weeks ago and is still missing. I have loved watching this guy play for us but it's the not the first time he has gone missing with injury for weeks, another questionable two year deal that Macca and the board tossed away.
Hannah looks like a different player from two years ago, is anyone surprised though? After that it seems to be a combination of Hannah and Shaw's mates and dross kept on from last season.
This lot are either not good enough, not fit enough or don't care or all three, we are in a big mess with an unbalanced squad and I personally think we are doomed already despite 30 odd games left. I like Bignot and it's not his fault he has been left in a mess but it's going to take a long while to sort out.

Let’s hope some of them leave. Tbh I’m not fussed who it is provided it frees up some cash. The fact that MB’s two loan players were the best players on the pitch today (physically strong enough and quick) give me confidence he knows just what we need to sort ourselves out and has access to the means of doing so. Sounds like he’s going to get a couple more in by Tuesday which has to be good news.

Mad Jon obviously surrounded himself with like minded gutless people. It's harsh to say that, I know, but I'm watching games and trying to work out which players are having a real go. I get that confidence is low but when the whistle blows for kick off you're out there playing a game you've played all your life and in many cases these players were deemed good enough to be professional footballers at some very decent clubs.

Said on another thread we'll soon be watching 11 loanees starting every week but judging by Bignot's recruits so far that wouldn't be a bad thing. The bloke is troubleshooting.

Can't say I'd be bothered about losing any of this lot. I like Tom Shaw, he seems like the only player that would die for the cause. Astles is another one that does appear to give his all but he desperately needs to go on a fitness regime. He has huge potential but he is carrying far too much weight for this league. We miss Mahon dreadfully when he doesn't play, he is our only flair player but it's a waste of a wage when he spends most the time recovering from injury.
I am right behind Bignot, he knows what he's got and I am convinced he will ship this lot out and in his words 'beg, borrow or steal' to get the right players in. The next few weeks will not be pretty but we have to get behind this guy and let him build a Bignot team. He needs all the help he can get.

With a bit of luck over the next 3-4 weeks MB can get some more loanees in and create a base from which to build. Whether that gives him enough time to save this season remains to be seen (every 3 games we need 4 points to stand a chance and that doesn’t look very likely at the minute as a gap is opening up between the bottom 5 and the rest).

There is no need to immediately push the relegation panic button yet it is only October Atkins came within 1 point of saving us using a similar method 3 months down the line and as long as Bignot does similar by end of November we will be OK....just🙂

Unless MB gets 5-6 decent loans in PDQ I just don’t see where we get 4 points every 3 games. Sincerely hope I am wrong.
