Tomorrow we say goodbye to my grandad and a true Chester FC supporter Albert Worrall, who passed earlier this month at the age of 97.
Born in Lower Bridge Street, Chester in March 1920 he began supporting Chester FC in the late 1920’s before the club won promotion to the Football League and remained a loyal supporter of the club for the remainder of his life. He often recalled fond memories of CFC players and teams from those early days.
Albert very rarely missed a home game with the exception of serving as a sapper during WW2 and was still stood in the Harry McNally Terrace with 4 generations of Worrall’s several years ago until ill health prevented him from attending anymore games.
The funeral takes place at All Saints Church, Hoole Road at 11am tomorrow (Monday 23rd Oct) and fellow Blues are welcome to attend the service and feel free to wear Chester FC scarves or shirts.
