The thing I liked most was that we went hell-for-leather for the win. We could have scored 4 in injury time, not just one!
Love beating time wasting, wind up merchants like them. It's hardly surprising teams do it when they know the officials always add the mandatory 4 minutes stoppage time irrespective of how much time they waste.
All of MB's signings so far seem decent. Seem to have injected a lot of pace into the side. Archer looks a player.
Got an important meeting tomorrow and I've lost my voice - thanks for that Dawson!

What scenes at the end. Thought we'd blown it. MB and the fans were going mental. Stunned silence at half time turned into mayhem when the winner went in. Marcus was in the Blues Bar after the game thanking the fans and dedicated the win to us. 🙂

God knows what happened at the end, mad scenes, Bignot was in the crowd, a player jumped right in to the Harry Mac and a few fans spilled on to the pitch! Brilliant finish, we had the Barrow goal under siege in the last five minutes or so, the ball fell to Dawson on the edge of the box after a scramble and he smashed it in via a deflection I think, might have been White.
Good game I thought, really enjoyed it. Can’t emphasise enough just how much better we look with two decent full backs, alright maybe Hall-Johnson was caught out a bit for Barrow’s first, but he’s so much more mobile than Halls and does the basics better, cracking hit for his goal as well after Gough’s cross eventually found him.
We were dominant in the first half, should have been another goal or two up really but then got caught with the balls over the top in added time, already mentioned the first and then Astles made a hash of trying to deal with Harrison for the second.
Archer looks a find, he’s all about pace and power, he took his goal really well with a lethal finish racing on to a lovely ball through from Dawson on the right. Hannah thrived off him as well, the two of them linked up really well and it was definitely his best performance of the season. Another season best effort from Turnbull as well, I’d have given him man of the match myself. There’s no doubting Dawson’s eye, he can see things on the pitch others can’t, he has a sweet foot and when it comes off it looks great. It’s all about improving his concentration to improve his pass conversion rate.
Thought Barrow were really poor, offered very little and pretty much all they did was aided though our own nervousness.
Anyway, loved it tonight, result, performance and atmosphere in the stadium was all much improved. Can’t wait for Maidstone now.

Exactly. Marketing and Advertising department has once again finished for the season. Mark Maguire said at the time of McCarthys sacking that "we need the fans more than ever" So what are the board (Ops and CFU) doing to get those fans back? Are we utilising social media to the fullest to advertise our games? Are we reaching out to the people of Chester with incentives or pricing offers for upcoming games? What are they doing? Fantastic result last night. Absolutely massive win. Marcus Bignot is now slowly getting us there on the pitch. Now surely to God it's time for our CFU chairman, CFU board and Ops board to sort themselves out and put a proper plan of action into place for getting our brand out there in the community. Advertise games, get Albert and Co to smash it on social media. Wrexham game ticketing information, got great food in the bar before the game? Get it advertised again. We need the passion and leadership shown by Marcus last night to be replicated in the boardroom

I decided to leave after the goalmouth scramble in injury time thinking that was it. Was made up when I heard the cheer getting in my car but gutted I missed it. I will never understand why anyone would do that when the game is hanging in the balance. You've just missed the best moment of the season - and isn't that why we go to football? Blimey we all deserved that after what we've seen this year. Major euphoria of a last minute goal will hopefully give us a real lift. In the first half we looked decent (bar about 60 seconds at the end) and I'm hoping that the Bignot effect is starting to take effect. Certainly the signings look an improvement, especially Archer who I was well impressed with. Pacy, and held the ball up really well - just what we need. Second half, it was good to see us having a go, as Barrow played out for the draw and the last 5 minutes were enough to give anyone a heart attack. Zanzala should have scored, twice, before Dawson let fly into the corner to spark wild celebration - can't wait to see it back again. And we all went home feeling really good for once. Shout out to the crowd as well last night who really got behind the team. Love Bignot's passion, including kicking the wall after Zanzala's miss to his charge down the touchline (only saw this on twitter as I sprinted in the other direction). Need to not get carried away, Barrow are very poor but the signs were there that we might just get out of this. Onwards and upwards - and NEVER leave before the final whistle!

Agree totally that those moments make it all worth it. Such a euphoric end to the night, made all the more special by the fact that everybody had resigned themselves to the fact it just wasn't going to go in. I actually thought we were a bit rubbish in the second half, but on about 88 minutes we just layed siege on the Barrow goal. I have never seen so many near misses, goalmouth scrambles and clearances in such a short space of time. Zanzala nearly scored goal of the season, then we had about three hacked off the line and you just knew the game was up. Then, Dawson! A brilliant moment, hopefully a turning point to unite everybody at the club. First half we were great, it was total robbery that we went in at half time at 2-2, but we have to learn from it. Game management is so vital at this level, but we completely flapped it and lost our heads. MB referenced this in his post-match interview and I'm confident he'll improve us in that respect. Dawson was superb tonight. He lost his way a bit in the second half, as they all did, but his set piece delivery over the 90 minutes was the best I've seen from a Chester player in ages. Archer up front is a big talent, for him to put a performance in like that against a physical Barrow side when he's only just met his own teammates was incredible. You can just see what an asset he's going to be for us, he's the player we've been crying out for all season. Wouldn't grumble with any of them tonight, they ran their balls off for the cause. Marcus Bignot's celebration was wonderful, he gets what it's about and he's breathing life back into a team that looked utterly spent. We need to get behind him in a big way, he's exactly the character we need to steer this ship. Get in! Really hope that’s a turning point for Dawson. Have always thought he was the creative player we need but he made too many mistakes.....up until last night. I can’t remember one set piece that wasn’t top drawer and some of those whipped in free kicks towards the penalty spot were sublime. Let’s hope this lets him step up his game because now we have some variation up front witha big man in Archer and strikers who can play off him we should be upping the goals per match significantly 🤞

Excellent result against our bogey team couldn't make it last night, but sounded a much improved performance, barrow are struggling I went to see them against Leyton Orient who did actually look quiets decent, that ended 2-2 after being 2-2 at half time so I was thinking de ja vue, I like Marcus he is not affraid to make decisions, be interesting to know where the money came from Archer and Gough well played boys onto Maidstone next let's see if we can get back to back wins

Still buzzing from yesterday, what a game and what a way to win it! Could have gone either way, actually thought Barrow looked more likely to win it with a succession of corners around the 85 minute mark, but we defended them superbly and the last 5 mins were all us. Goalmouth scrambles, one on one saved after a great run from Zanzala, saves from their keeper..... thought it was never going to go in! But we bloody deserved that, battered them for large parts of the game, don't think Lynch had a save to make? Even more satisfying after their disgraceful tactics here last season. Love an injury time winner, think Bromley away last season we got one but haven't had our fair share!
The first 44 minutes were the best we've played for a long time, passing, moving and shape was top notch. Bignot got it spot on, should have been 2-0 up at half time and he was really trying to keep them focussed, but he can't really be blamed for individual errors. I actually thought Hannah was superb, particularly first half, and seemed to have a great understanding with Archer even though they've probably only trained together once or twice. Archer looks quality, he's tall, can hold up a ball, win headers, very quick, and a very composed finish. Tranmere fans, this could turn out to be the one that got away! Also thought Turnbull had a terrific game, James excellent too. Gough looked very solid in defence, but gave the ball away a few times, but I'm sure that will improve over time.
It can be hard to get motivated to go down to the ground when we've been generally shocking for 10 months, but nights like this are why I will always go. The bad games make wins like this all the more sweeter. Booked my tickets for Maidstone months ago, looking forward to it now, really think we can get something there. But we're still in trouble, still a long way to go, but very promising to know we can play that well. On another day could have been 5-0! COYB!!

That was a really enjoyable victory, and the crowd really got behind the team in those last few minutes, fantastic noise from 1500. Great 3 points, lets keep it going.
Bignot (their No17) was doing my head in with all his shirt pulling, how could the ref keep missing it?

Excellent performance last night. We had pace and power - something which we haven't had since returning to the National League. MB clearly knows what's required to succeed in this league and his recruitment is evidence of this. All of the new signings are a significant step up from what we had previously and for me it's now all about moving some of those others on. It just goes to show that when we have a manager with a clear understanding and strategy, plus a scouting network, we can bring in the right players. Now what we need to see is performances like last night being produced consistently. If that can be the case, and we can keep players fit, then I don't think we have anything to be concerned about.

It certainly was must win game. To lose against a lowly team would have been disastrous and especially after MB brings in 'emergency' signings to steady the sinking ship. Glad that heavy black cloud has moved on and it could well be the turning point if we get another win from the next two games.

Dunno mate think Barrow wanted to get on with the game but with Bignot out of his technical area the ref had to wait ref did warn Bignot but very unlikely he will be reported for it

Good highlights. Love a bit of passionate commentary! Brilliant seeing the winner again. Quite sad seeing the fans and players going ballistic, yet you see a car driving away in the background, "to beat the rush". Just don't understand people leaving early, let alone on a Tuesday night with 1,500 in attendance.

Think he was referring to the commentator stating it was the "93rd minute of injury time" i.e. 90+93
