Think we should give him a go at CH on sat alongside Astles... looked very assured last season in the cheshire cup much older than his age suggests, is one of our own and will add some much needed pace alongisde one of the big lads

It's a tough decision for Bignot to make. If he struggles then he could be criticised for throwing him in at the deep end. Maidstone have a seasoned striker like Sam-Yorke up front and it would be a difficult first game for Jones especially on that farce of a pitch that they have.
I was hoping that we would be in mid-table mediocrity by March and the three young lads could be given their chance. Throwing them on with two mins to go when getting beat easily is hardly going to improve them like Mad Macca did.

Can’t be any worse than McCombe surely. Though I do appreciate people don’t want to risk knocking his confidence too much.

I always think centre back is the hardest position in the team to blood a youngster so I am happy to leave it to the managers judgement.

I think McCombe gets a tough time, particularly given the leeway given to his partner who hasn't been great either this season.
There is absolutely no way on this earth you would put Jones in over him now. Not if your actually being serious.

Are you joking?! Astles has been our most consistent performer.

Are you joking?! Astles has been our most consistent performer. There's an argument that he's not been fantastic in the last few games. I think there have been a few recent goals where he could've done better. On the whole he's our best performer though and you feel he's entitled to one or two blips.

Astles will continue to make mistakes while he is so unfit.
Fantastic with the game in front of him, run through a brick wall and put his head where it hurts, but any ball over or down the side of him and he is toast.
Lose that 2 stone and we would have a real player on our hands.

Totally agree with nwas , Astles looks likes hes actually put weight on during the season , If bignot can get him fit and sort his diet out he will be the next 100k player.

Agree with all of the above, their were some young Swiss lads sat by me at the Woking game & they couldn’t believe a pro footballer could look like that.

James Jones should be in the team instead of McCoombe. who is a poor captain and even poorer player.

If James Jones is not going to get a start any time soon I feel that he should be loaned out to a Conference North club a la Danny Collins.
