Its a shame the lads going out. They are winning every week in the NWYA and the college games too.
Maybe it is time next year to go for the Football League Youth Alliance next season and playing stronger teams week in week out? Tranmere and Wrexham for starters.
Hartlepool are bottom of their Youth Alliance League so the next step must be aiming for this?

Hartlepool may be bottom of their league but they still get massive funding and are full-time.

Hartlepool may be bottom of their league but they still get massive funding and are full-time. As did Chesterfield previously and Oldham etc before them, amd we competed better with them. Wrexham and Tranmere dont get it and play in the EFL Youth Alliance. The NWYA was a great starting point for us, but we need to progress for me.

I completely agree with that Mark, but people like Callum always have excuses for us not moving into a more competitive league.

What excuses, never heard any? Think you're talking absolute shite!

I really wasn't pointing fingers at anyone, justing pointing out that if we want to succeed at bridging the gap with these clubs we should be looking for a more competitive environment. I now believe CFC applied under special circumstances to join the FA Youth Alliance but were turned down twice. Crazy that as looking at the fixtures they are in dire need of more quality clubs.

We need to keep applying. I spoke to Callum ages ago in gym and he said something like that. I just couldn't remember the exact details. Would we be eligible for funding if we were eventually accepted Mark? I know that when we played Bolton last season in Youth Cup Bernard told me they get a £1.5m of funding

On what grounds were we turned down what is the criteria for acceptance it can't be football league status as according to wiki tranmere Wrexham and even york are in it
