Always gave 100% for us. Appointed Caretaker Manager at Bury and admitted to crying when offered opportunity this week. Sound guy!

One of my all-time favourite Chester players.
Don't really get the Vaughan slur?

That may be so, but that last season in the FL he carried the team and nobody can deny that.

That may be so, but that last season in the FL he carried the team and nobody can deny that. And nobody will deny it, because he did indeed carry that side, and was our only real hope of staying up. However its more the comment that Lowe is a sound guy, that had people bringing up his support of Vaughan, rather than anything to do with his actual playing ability.

Spoke a few times to Ryan over the last 18 months, he was very keen to come back and play here at Chester but sadly the previous manager was already in the hunt for other strikers so it never happened.
The 'Vaughan apologist' tag is unfair. It's simple really. He was pretty much the only player being paid at the time and had a very young family to look after. Vaughan knew he had to pay him given he was clearly a player he couldn't afford to screw over.
Ryan will in my eyes always be welcome back at Chester. Just a shame we couldn't have snapped him up as he would've been a great addition.

I would also love him back here, but is he still putting his boots on?

Not doing much tonight for his hopes of getting the Bury manager’s job permanently - 3-0 down at home to Woking in FA Cup.
