Great chance to get some back-to-back victories to really push us up that table.

Since returning to the conference we've played 9 games between Christmas Day and 2nd January, won 1, drawn 3 and lost 5.
Conference North season we won all 3 games, but even in the Evo-Stik Premier League we drew both games. Christmas bottlers.

Hartlepool are in decent form, so anything from that game will be a bonus, however anything less than 8 points from the other 3 games plus Guiseley on new years day, means we're doomed imo.

They won't be as easy as they may seem. Halifax are difficult to beat at home, Paul Cox's guisely seem to be doing well now and Hartlepool are a decent side. Solihull also have new management team which can push them on too.

That's probably just more reflective how how much more difficult we've found the Conference than the lower leagues than anything to do with Christmas. January traditionally is when things all turn to s**t for us. Hopefully this season will be the other way round for once.

That said, I suggest a strict sherry trifle ban.

Yeah I considered that as I was typing it but 6 points from 9 games equates to about 30 points over a season and we got relegated with 51 points, so it's poor even by our standards.

Yep, and the festive record is particularly poor considering opponents in recent years have included Altrincham, Solihull and Southport.

3 massive home games in Dec... would like to think the club would be doing something to get a good crowd down at a time when the lads need the support for these vital games ?

Got a good feeling about these, but If we don’t get many points in those 3 home games, then it’s definitely going to be a case of rancid generals.

Especially as gates for games immediately before Xmas are notoriously poor. Could be the ideal opportunity for a 3 games for £40-type initiative Plenty of time at the moment to put an offer in place but can't leave it much longer
