I am surprised that these two lads didn't feature at Altrincham, they seem to have been frozen out, there is never any mention of them.

Isn't James Jones still injured? Otherwise I expect he would have been involved at Alty. He's played in behind closed doors games.

Once again a lack of information available by the club.

I agree communication from the club could be better, but I'm not sure injuries to two youth players is something we need regular updates on.
I mean, neither of them have played a minute of first team action between them. What sort of communication on their fitness do people expect? Not trying to be sarcastic, genuinely interested to know what people want.

By the way they are no longer Youth Players.

James Jones is no worse than LRT and McCombs. If Astles is fit then he has got to be given a go. McCombs has got lead legs and positionally LRT is dreadful. Jones would need someone with him to talk him through so I would only play him with Astles but his height, pace and ability mean he would longer term be a better choice than the other 2.
Nathan Brown would do no worse than Bell, Hannah or Akintunde either.
We have nothing to lose, and we are giving shirts to absoĺute shite.

NWAS over the years from your involvement with the youth Setup you've mentioned various names over the period of time who you think are no worse than such and such, yet very few of them very rarely make the 1st team, or even get a chance to play. Why is this ? are we afraid to bring in our own players - do we feel there'd be too much pressure on them, because they're part of our youth setup ? I really don't get it, especially when you look at some of the dross we've brought in on loan in the past few seasons.

You would have to ask them, but I think managers dont seem to want to risk them. "It could destroy them" is a common line. Not playing them for months on end then releasing them at the end of the season doesnt help them either. A reminder that both Burr and McCarthy only used Sam Hughes when injurues forced thir hands.
I am not saying above that Nathan Brown or James Jones are going to be as good as Sam, what I am saying is that they are young and been at the club a while, and having watched some awful players yesterday would certainly put a shift in.

Absolutely spot on. No one is convincing me that a 19 year old Slew is a better option than giving Nathan Brown a go. As for James Jones, even given his tender years has to be a better option than either Halls, McCombe or Rowe Turner all of who are dreadful. Instead of scrapping around the likes of Goole for players give the young lads who are here already a chance FFS at least the fans will get behind them.
