A massive match for us tomorrow night against a struggling Leyton Orient team. 3 points is a must for us, and I think we will manage to achieve that, on the back of a good point at Bromley. It won’t be easy, as they drew against Dover on Saturday under a caretaker manager but we definitely need to be winning this one. Come On You Blues! Score: Leyton Orient 1-2 Chester FC (White, Bell) Attendance: 4,176 (106 Chester) COYB!

Not like you to predict a 2-1 win Rio. By the law of averages, one day you will be right .

I'm going for 2-1 too - Hannah and Dawson.

Unfortunately young Rio one of your prediction goalscorer is highly unlikely to play tomorrow
think Bignot may need to recall the loan lads to fill the bench

Going 0-1 Hannah to score on 38 minutes. Backs to the wall second half. Looking forward to travelling to this one, last time was a 1-2 victory when I thought Iain Atkins was going to keep us up.

Have made my predictions previously 3-0 win, 2 for Hannah and 1 for Dawson. 😄
If this comes in I think I may have spent all my good luck in one go.......😳

A rare Chester game followed from home for me tomorrow. Last time I said that was Aldershot away and we only went and bloody won.... so going for another Blues win. Orient 1-2 Chester (Hannah x2) 96 Chester in attendance 🔵⚽️

I’m going for an autumn cracker man jacket. 4-3 to the mighty blues. 4 up at half time, but make an almighty meal of it second stanza and wind up hanging on for grim death.

Hard to see how MB is going to find 11 players tonight. We need a result but I think the injuries and recent travelling will take their toll. I'm going with a 2-0 defeat. I can only assume that the switch to full time has been too much for a group of players who were already unfit. Medical staff have a lot to do to get us ready for a run of crucial games.

I'm sure MOC will correct me but our recent record at Brisbane Road doesn't look too shabby - though I can only really recall the famous win under Ian Atkins towards the end of the ill-fated 99/00 campaign and the true smash and grab 1-0 midweek win in early December '05 (almost exactly 12 years ago). We were absolutely battered that night and probably should've lost by double figures but somehow stole a victory through Stewart Drummond just before half-time. I particularly recall an angry Orient fan arguing with Shaun "TIGER" Piercy (who went on to become an SV employee IIRC) which culminated in the burly Orient fan picking up the coach driver's brolly and hurling it down the aisle, narrowly missing my head.

I'm unbeaten on my trips...the above 2 plus a 2-2 draw in the late 90s.

A mate of mine who is a staunch O’s fan reckons that even though recent results haven’t been good, he still feels confident of a mid table finish. He believes that if the O’s don’t get seven points from the next three games then it could turn sour - next three games being: Chester (H), Torquay (A), Solihull (A). They’ve had over 200 applications for the vacant manager’s job. Concerning tonight’s game, let’s hope that MB can continue to galvanise our current patched up squad in to taking a draw from Brisbane Road.

With all these injuries and Turnbull suspended 2-0 defeat I fear 107 Blues in attendance Presumably James will play CM and the lady from wolves RM. BELL replacing White

Agree, despite improvements under Bignot I think injuries and the suspension of Turnbull will bite tonight. I remember McCarthy would bang on about being unlucky, Bignot has been ravaged with injuries which is hindering our progress. Massive week coming up, we need 3 points from the next two games I think.

I knew we were short of players. Didn't realise it was that bad though! You'd presume the team tonight would look something like:- Lynch, Rainey, Halls, McCombe, Rowe-Turner, Gough, James, Dawson, Akintunde, Hannah, Bell Subs, Vaughan, Anderson, Downes, Hellawell, Marsh-Evans. ?? If so, not one of those subs has played in a league game for us. Unless someone else gets fit that's three youth team players on the bench. We could change to a back four and put Anderson in. It looks as if MB has decided on a back three though. This is a crucial game in our season. Lose this and Orient move away and probably up the table. Win this and we move into the pack a bit more, and drag Orient into a relegation battle. Biggest game of the season so far? Coincides with the worst run of injuries so far. Typical. I'd settle for not losing.

Signing players with injury history is a risk for a large squad. Signing them for a small squad is stupid. In this case not the fault of MB, and due to the empty piggy bank all signings will have to be a bit of a risk. Unfortunately it’s where we are. Sacking a very poor manager can resolve things, but not when he has been allowed to ransack the family silver first. Hopefully MB will have been fully aware of the extent to which he was taking on damaged goods when he accepted the job. Clearly a two year restoration project(at best), so good luck to Marcus.

You would have to question whether the change in training regime has had any affect on the number of injuries, given that a number seem to occur outside matches.
What it disappointing is that players disappear for weeks/months after appearing to finish a match without an injury. Either they are injured, but finish the match, or get injured in training. It's been happening for two years now.

As I work in London, I'm off to the match tonight, dragging along a couple of work colleagues. Anyone know which pub Chester fans are meeting in before the match? Thanks
