As one poster has mentioned, the Stereophonics are playing Wrexham next year. That will make them loads of £££s if done correctly.
As we all know the club really needs alternative sources of (reliable) income so it isn’t as reliant on gate receipts - so if the Deva could be turned into a music venue in the same way, which bands would you like to see playing there?

Yes, let's get on to their agent, Terry something... I remember once they finished their performance (fairly raunchy if I recall), Cleggy said, "I think you'll agree, they were a bit tasty!"

Tranmere lost a fortune with the summer concerts they put on. Think it was over £100k.
They can afford to lose that, we can't.
Knowing the Chester public, it wouldn't make money. The racecourse cancelled their proposed weekend festival last time, due to really poor sales. Too risky. Would put our club at risk.

Yeah, I'm not sure either. The Deva's location and accessibility aren't ideal either.
Weren't Mansun once supposed to be playing at the Deva, but it ended up cancelled because of safety concerns and general lack of interest? Mind you that's 20 years ago now.

The racecourse cancelled their proposed weekend festival last time, due to really poor sales. Too risky. Would put our club at risk. They did, think it was more money than the above quoted 100k though.
Basically they had everything done for them the year before, I believe they made their money on the deal they agreed, and made money also on the food and drink sold at the ground on the day - similar to Wrexhams deal. However, so I've been told anyway - they felt they could make more money by doing it all themselves.
Ended up losing a fortune in the process.
The problem we'd possibly have is that all our catering is outsourced isn't it. Do we make any profit per game on Food and Drink sales on a matchday?
How are the covenants on the ground now anyway? Can we host live music? Would we be able to 'lease out' the ground for usage as a music venue or would it have to be done via the council as they own it?
Could we be in the situation where we host a couple of gigs but make absolutely no money at all from it?

Possible (fictitious) tributes/songs:
Tom Waits (...for McCarthy to get a Home win...) Supergrass (...not 3G, please) Arctic [Brass] Monkeys (for those at the Alty New Year’s Day match a few seasons ago) Fleetwood (Harry) Mac Ben Folds (like our defence in the last 5 mins of a match) ELO - Mr Blue Skies it over the bar again Dire Straits (self explanatory!) Dire Straits - Money for nothing (McC’s recruitment policy) The Beatles - Help! Bon Jovi - Living on a Prayer Free - Alright Now (...we have Marcus)

We should at least have a look at hosting evenings in the Legends lounge with guest speakers like ex famous pro’s.

Nobody will have heard of them And that's where the club should be working a lot more closely with the Former Players Association, bringing down a couple of former players to talk about their time in the game, sharing stories about their time at the club etc. I'd love to hear more stories from the players about their time under Harry McNally, from Graham Barrow about his time with the club and talking about the game in general.
We should be making the most of our ties with the FPL and using these as fundraisers to generate the much needed cash we need for the disabled viewing platform, training ground, bar extension etc etc etc.

Get some of the buskers from the city centre in. Call it the Bumpers lane buskathon. Potential to raise thousands this, again needs to be marketed well and promoted in the city. Ten thousand at the ground and a fairground type effort with hook a duck and Velcro darts in the car park.
