Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen more and more.
Football is too expensive for those with limited disposable income. The admission clubs at our level have to charge to remain competitive is too much. More often than not, you can either stay in and watch the 24/7 football on telly or go to a Championship game for £2 or £3 more.

It is true, very poor for a football league fixture considering both clubs aren’t located too far apart. Accrington had 800 I think a couple of years ago for one match.

Morecambe don’t seem to have pushed on since moving to their new ground a few years back and the novelty of them playing in the Football League has probably gone among the local public. Their ownership issues certainly won’t have helped either. As with Macc before them they are a traditionally non-league club from the North-West who have battled away in the Football League for more than a decade but it’s always going to end in relegation eventually.

It was a foul night in parts of the country last night. It is a small seaside town not the most affluent part of England. Their current form is poor as well. I wonder how many Crewe took up there? Gates were generally lower than average last night it seemed. As pointed out £20 plus is a lot for that level of football considering WBA charge £25 for pl stuff

Wortleyblue you are absolutely correct it’s only against sides which are not deemed as top six etc. That said it represents fair value for money. As you may be aware I am midlands based and get to see WBA occasionally with a former work colleague. Coventry charge £24!for league two football which is ridiculous in my opinion.

It does indeed represent fair value for money when compared to what we have to charge just to finance a very small squad just shows how much unfair financial assistance they get to be able to finance a team in "the best league in the world" at such low prices

Premier League clubs no longer rely on what they bring in through the gates for income - it's all sponsorship and TV minute. They could let everyone in free of charge and would still make money.
Same with clubs like Eastleigh. It's easy for them to offer free admission, cheap season tickets etc when their income stream is coming from elsewhere.

Wortley Blue don’t get me started on what we need to charge just to make it viable. I dont loathe paying our admission prices as I’m aware the club needs to charge what it does to keep ticking over. What’s frustrating is the lack of FairPlay in terms of finances. Regarding WBA it’s not the most affluent part on England where there supporters come from. I think they charge that to temp fans to go to the games.

SWLP not trying to get you going I'm with you on the financial fair play thing what galls me is the amount of money going into the premiershit which allows top flight clubs to charge rediculously low prices to get people in and still pay top wages WBA may not be the most affluent part of England but I'll bet theres a few non league clubs around there fighting for survival having to charge over the top prices (compared to £25 for a premiershit game) to survive and I bet WBA could'nt give a shit about them as long as they grab all the floating fans

Wortley Blue I never thought for one minute that you had the intention of trying to wind me up. Your points are very reasonable and I feel exactly the same as you do in terms of the amount of money at premiership Level and how little of it in comparison filters down. You are correct they wouldn’t give a dam. I find the money earned a the top level obscene and frankly insulting. My wife and I work tirelessly in our NHS trying to help with peoples health and lives yet these wages on a weekly basis for kicking a ball is frankly insulting
