Let’s face it - we are weak up front, in middle and at back. But you have to prioritise defence. If you don’t let goals in at least you get a point a game minimum.

Maybe the injuries to the strikers are worse than we thought but, then again, we don't really know do we?

I would take a striker to replace Hannah, White and Bell any day of the weak. Although, a lower league centre half would be useful. You could safely replace 7-8 of the current squad, with the possible exceptions of Astles, Archer, Akintude, Gough and Dawson.

We have two fit strikers.

If he’s getting this striker, on loan from the football league who’s scored goals in non league during his career, then it’s a good signing and a win-win really. Agree we need defenders but if Bignot has the option to sign this striker then why not. I’m sure he’s looking for defenders too.

Because Andy Halls and LRT are disgusting in that defence.
We need a centre back in. Not more forwards for crying out loud.
I could have cried when I heard he was bringing in a centre forward at the meeting last week. We need defenders.

Defence seems like the priority but it depends how close Astles and Hall-Johnson are to a return. I'd give Anderson a go next game as well, he can't be any worse than McCombe was on Saturday.

reading the chronicle article re striker situation it does sound as if white and archer will be out for a few weeks at the time archer appeared to have groin strain but its worse by the sound of things but as normal we hear nothing from the club if we did know the situation at least we could appreciate the issues a little better but thinking a player will be back in a week when its not the case at all is both annoying and frustrating craig mahon is another example

You could tell he was cheesed off on Saturday, bringing Astles on for Bell. In fairness to Astles, he did win a few things in the air and brought down the ball a couple of times, feeding the wide man etc - something which Bell didn't do.

Very true, best to build from the back. It's the first thing Mark Wright sorted out when he first came here.

Correct, Bignot said at the meeting the other night that White and Archer are out to mid Jan and a new striker is coming in on loan using some of the squad builder money. Bignot also said a team two leagues below took a league 2 striker on loan as they paid towards his wages and we couldn’t.

I thought the conventional wisdom on this is sort the defence, next build a solid spine in the centre mid and central striker positions and then deal with the wide positions?
Sounds like we are taking the Kevin Keegan approach to squad building and are focussing on scoring one more than the opposition......and in KK’s immortal words, “I’d love it, I’d just love it...” if Marcus pulls this off.
.....by January I think we’ll have a pretty good idea given the matches we have in December.

We could do with Ben Henigan back on loan from Sheffield Utd, don’t know if he’s injured but he doesn’t seem to have featured at all for the blades this season

Why on earth don't we get the injured players looked at by somebody who can do something for them? Our present staff don't seem to have done much for the past two years now!!

Very hard team to break into given their form, with players like Carter-Vickers at the back who's a potential first team player for Spurs next season. If he gets a chance he'll have to take it!

If he can send Bell back early then use his wages to add quality to the defence. Another striker isn’t necessary. Hannah will score goals we need to stop them going in.
Also worried that Bignots MO is just bringing more players after more players. Bit like Neil Young did in the same league.........
