Being bored due to snow outside I have been looking at the length of service of current National League managers and it seems northern teams are less tolerant with their managers than our southern counterparts. With the exception of Macclesfield and Fylde no northern manager has been in the job more than 18 months. Are we more demanding or do the southerners see the bigger picture better than us. I know we were more than tolerant with our previous incumbent and needed a change and I don't really want this to turn into another thread about him but its just got me thinking are we less tolerant or do the southern teams get better results or is it they are more prepared to have faith in who they've got any thoughts

Well without getting a calculator out it appears that with a few exceptions most managers have a life expectancy of around 18 months which seems really poor to me and doesn't seem very different from the Prem manager lifespan which cases like Wenger aside seems equally as short.

You may well be right CD I only looked at the National very rarely look at anything to do with the premiershite

We're 7 and a half seasons in and have had 4 managers. Hopefully Marcus can be here beyond the end of next season. My feelings about us staying up have improved after Saturdays win and James Jones very promising debut.
