The way the BBC sets out the fixtures on it's football website. it's always been the norm to start the days fixtures with the English top division then go down the divisions, followed by the Scots leagues and any other fixtures after that. if we take Sat 6th April as an example the BBC website starts with the English Premiership as you'd expect but follows this with Womens international frendlies, then following that is the Scots Premier fixtures before finally going back to the championship!!!!

On that note, the recent changes they’ve made to their scores page. Looks and functions so much worse, they’ve removed the ability to show goalscorers, and they’ve stopped displaying NLN/NLS scores.

Yes, it's dreadful. No option to see the scorers, badges next to some teams and not others, and possibly NLN/S dropped completely. It looks like it's been done by someone who knows nothing about football. Design changes happen but they shouldn't make it less informative and more difficult to use. I know people will say places like Flashscore are better for results anyway, but BBC Football was as far as I know the only place where you could see a list of all the days results and scorers at a glance without clicking each one individually, right down to the NLN/S and major leagues around the world.

I’ve always been something of a BBC loyalist - it’s great to be able to have a quick scroll on a Saturday evening and view the results and scorers from all the British leagues, as well as the major European ones, on one page. I even got some stick at Brackley the other week for standing there continually refreshing their website to check the latest scores from our league, rather than using an app which would send me notifications! These changes, though, mean I might have no choice but to finally cave in and start using Flashscore or the like next season.

These changes, though, mean I might have no choice but to finally cave in and start using Flashscore or the like next season. I almost find Flashscore too instantaneous. If the ball goes in the net they update the score even if it's instantly ruled offside. I don't like scores being changed until the teams have kicked off again, leave that to the Premier League and VAR. I know why they do it though. Flashscore uses the same technology as the betting industry. They actually have people at games whose job it is to press buttons every time there's a goal, booking, sub etc. You're expected to do it within three seconds. I thought about doing it, seemed a decent way to get in games free, but the training stuff is all in badly translated English and I found it hard to make any sense of, plus it's full of talk of "penalties" for being too slow or making mistakes. From reading reviews it seems like they try and find any excuse not to pay your expenses.

Getting Emails from clubs where you only buy away tickets. I have just had two from Telford about their Playoff semi final against Mickleover.

God only knows why they've done this, utterly ruined it. Do the BBC feel they are somehow contributing to the equality arguement and therefore feel morally obliged to give near equal status to womens football? Do they do so out of fear of criticism or do they feel it will somehow promote the womens game? Would they dare have a results page that had two tabs on the homepage? One for mens results, another for women? Their site has deteriorated.

When you buy tickets online, there will be a box you can tick/untick to opt out of marketing messages. I've bought tickets from Southport and several other clubs this season and I'm not getting emails off any of them. 😁
Barnsley is a different case as that's pre-GDPR, although I don't think I've had anything off them for years either.

I was also disgusted by the changes to the BBC scores/fixtures page (especially when the Australian and Swedish leagues were there and NL/NLN not). I wrote a complaint and received this reply:
We’re sorry to read of your disappointment with the changes, and we’ve shared this with the team at BBC Sport.
Overall, we feel the new design of the tables, scores and fixtures, and live pages, is much improved for audiences, including allowing us to publish more quickly – which is a big boost for users.
However, we’re continually listening to our audience and take the feedback on board. We’ll keep reviewing and building on the new pages and we’d like to thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Some particular features which audiences have brought to our attention, like the ‘Show Scorers’ button in the Scores & Fixtures page, and the links from league tables taking users to team pages, will be restored in the near future.
For those who have contacted us about the loss of the National League North & South fixtures from the main scores and fixtures page, this is a technical issue with our data supplier and isn’t related to these wider updates. We’re working to have these fixtures restored to the page, but in the meantime, users can still search for these leagues using the search bar available.
Thanks again and wishing you all the best,
BBC Complaints Team
We shall see!
