Any chance someone from the club, or someone with links to the club could confirm the situation with an assistant manager who doesn't appear at half our games because of TV commitments. Is this going to last while he sees his contract out, the end of the season or is this just the deal? Because I think it's quite clear that in the long term it's a totally untenable arrangement. What happens if McCarthy is unwell and can't do a game? Who steps in to run the team? (I'm available by the way). Extract from article in the NLP - 'Jon McCarthy has been more verbose in the local press, however, confirming that it is a part-time position and that the situation will be reviewed in the summer. McCarthy also emphasised that his work on the training field has been invaluable. Indeed, since Iwelumo’s arrival, striker James Alabi has been nudging a goal a game, including a superb brace at Braintree.'

it's becoming a farce Iwelumo is not at certain games we need someone who can help macca on matchdays it's all good on training days but matchdays macca needs someone with him to offer advice
there are plenty of assistants or even managers who would love to help out
this seriously needs reviewing and fast

Here's a thought. Why don't we just let the manager choose his assistant? Oh hang on.....

He needs to go now. This situation isn't working.

This situation just sums up the generally lethargic way the football club is run. Who actually is in control there? Is it McCarthy or is it everyone else? It seems he's incapable of making a difficult decision, incapable of bringing in anyone who hasn't been part of the football club before and incapable of standing up against people/situations that are so blatently wrong from the outside. How can you have a situation where your assistant manager isn't available for 75% of your fixtures? It seems it's a simple case of what people want, they get - whether that's a contract or a day off.

Not much point Alabi scoring if we are leaking goals like mad at the back. Which we are.

Funnily enough this is the sort of result and run of form that used to see SV sack the assistant manager back in the day!
