I'd bought a few tickets myself, first prize was a cruise! From the draw there were quite a number of non Wrexham located winners, maybe that's the secret.

Re winners outside Wrexham assume you mean selling to Exiles? Quire a number of our Exiles have sold a lot of tickets but we have told various people that we would sell more if the tickets were posted to all Exiles. Re the prizes - again very impressive but I am sure there are ways of securing these and starting early. I think if you found a group of fans to take over the raffle - maybe two per year abd then work with the catering team & Blues Bar Andy to have a summer ball and Christmas Party where the draws could take place these too could be fundraising events. It’s too late starting in October and ring fencing £1000 for the main prize. . The club did advertise for a fundraiser (volunteer) but I don’t think anyone stepped forward. Perhaps better to break down fundraising opportunities into bite size project groups?

The holiday prizes are secured through their sponsorship deal with Hays Travel whose owner is a fan of the club and was on their board until last season. I think the reason they have sold so many tickets this year is the fact that all profit made from the raffle is being given to Dean Keates for his playing budget. The fans at Wrexham are doing their best to help get the club back in the league.
I have been on the fundraising committee in the past and I did try to get a local travel company to donate a prize similar to what Hays provide Wroxham for their raffle. The company was interested in trying to help the club as a number of Chester fans book their holidays with this agent, all they wanted was to be able to email the CFU database details of their holiday deals but the club was not interested in this.

The whole issue of DP is being reviewed at the moment, in anticipation of new legislation. You cannot blame the Board for trying to do this right Billy.

If everyone of our so called hard core fan base of say 1300 had bought or sold just one book of tickets, available at a number of games, that would have been £13k for starters. A little effort from all is nearly always better than a bigger effort from a few. Sadly we collectively are poor at this, and perhaps we get what we deserve.

No, but a simple tick box on the form, either printed or online giving you permission to be contacted by third parties overrides this. Considering we have someone on the board who has marketing in their blood, its pretty amateur not to have done this. Mind you, we as fans don't hardly even get contacted by our own club via email never mind a third party. I still get emails from Barnsley (admittedly they go straight to junk,) but boy do they know how to market.

There were loads of third parties associated with the raffle, the Hotel in Newquay for one, pretty sure they could do with a few new contacts, in exchange for the 3 night stay to become maybe a weeks stay. The afternoon tea in the Architect, could be a 3 course meal, with a load more emails addresses for them to send out flyers to, etc etc.
Not knocking the donatees or the prizes donated, I just don't think we explore every avenue every time.

The point of a tick box for permission for third party contact is so easy and does not break any sort of Data Protection laws.
