I've criticised club and their lack of promotion of games recently but it's well over a week away. We have an away game before then and it's been a busy few days social media wise (transfers and 2 away games).
But don't let that get in the way of having a dig at Maguire (when that's not really his job)

I'd rather he gave us 'unprofessional', truthful statements than bullshit. He likes to think he's one of us, which is better than being distant and aloof. Hopefully if this 'great escape' gathers momentum we won't need to promote the games.

I'm a season ticket holder and I am struggling to know because the dialogue from the club is pathetic. Oh well, seeing as Maguire made such a success at Sotckport and Hull we should trust his judgment.

For every home game I see tweets and facebook posts in the lead up to the match, tweets on the day of the match, social media coverage from the local newspapers, adverts in the local newspapers etc. Of course we could do more, but to say we do "bugger all" is nonsense.

For every home game I see tweets and facebook posts in the lead up to the match, tweets on the day of the match, social media coverage from the local newspapers, adverts in the local newspapers etc. Of course we could do more, but to say we do "bugger all" is nonsense. Clearly there needs to be a review of our marketing strategy by the marketing gurus that lead our club. They are the 'experts' in this field so should be able to conduct a full review as to why Facebook posts and Twitter tweets don't seem to make the blindest bit of difference to the gate and what other forms of marketing could have a greater impact. We all have our own ideas as to what could be done better and how the gate could be improved. So far the only factor communicated from the club has been that fans aren't sharing these posts enough so therefore, consequently, it is our fault that the gates are where they are. This only continues to create the divide between the fanbase and the board. There seems to be a shift in momentum on the field and it's clear that, if we are to pull this off, the players are going to need the backing of the home support. Somewhere within that there is surely an opportunity to market the club and get people down to the ground with a shared cause. Again, I'm not an expert but have my own ideas on how that could be done. The elected board members are experts so this is their opportunity to prove their expertise.

I do feel we are reaching out to different groups of people (the 100 club for business people, the Trust linking into the community / schools etc), but we can always do more. The problem we have is that it is one thing getting people to come to the ground, it's another to get them to keep coming back if we play poorly on that specific game (Dagenham etc). That's why I think a relegation may help our attendances rather than the other way round.

Firstly, lets all calm down a bit.
Secondly, I think what you've said TB is right, we need more direction from the Board and to build up some momentum for this great escape.
I would be VERY interested to learn more from the Board about the meetings that took place earlier this week down at the ground, but we could do with an Official Comms from the Board going into some detail as to what the plan is, and what they need from us, the supporters, to help it come to life.
We all just need a bit of direction. If we're starting to move forward off the field then that is fantastic news. Please let us all know.
