Just signed Nathan Blissett CF from Plymouth, Callum Evans (Right back) from Forest Green and Adam Dugdale (centre half) from Southport with the aid of Silkmen Campaign Fund. Looks like they are going for it, good luck to them

Good luck Macclesfield ... you're so much more clued up than us.

Good luck Macclesfield ... you're so much more clued up than us. I'm not sure about that. Doing well on the pitch and they have an excellent manager, but they seem to lurch from one crisis to the next and frankly I would put money on there being an 'AFC Macclesfield' within the next 10 years.

When I say clued up I mean dumping Halls, McCombe and James on us and seeing how good Durrell and Lloyd were to their style of play. Although they have a smaller fanbase than us they seem to us their money more wisely and of course they regularly have cup runs which we don't. They don't have a sugar daddy as such but their chairman will cough up if they are in with a chance of getting back into the EFL. The current 3 loan signings have been financed by the fans.

If you're doing well on the pitch, everything else is a lot easier. Fans start buying into things like squad builder funds and players want to join them. They've got a great manager so success on the pitch is coming naturally to them, but I'm not sure their long-term future is better than ours.
However, they're a hard club to have anything against and don't get much to cheer about, so I would quite like to see them win the division.

They offered all three of Halls, McCombe and James new contracts.

I'd forgotten that Anders. It's hard to believe the way they've failed to perform for us. Macclesfield fans didn't seem to be that arsed that they'd left. It just goes to show what a good manager Askey is to get them performing.

James and Halls have picked up considerably in 2018. Let's hope they can keep it up for the remaining games

They consistantly do better than us because their board have never been deluded enough to think that part time cuts the mustard in this league.
Just hope we are not too late following that penny finally dropping. It has cost us 1000 lost regular attenders, reversed the momentum of the reborn club, and crushed hopes of football fans in the city of having a club serious about regaining FL status.
Unforgivable if it also costs us our national league status.

Yeah, think Macc fans were more worried about who players were choosing ahead of them rather than who they were actually losing. Understandable I suppose.

Thought there was a rumour on another thread that Halls was going back to Macc on loan...has anyone heard any more on that? Shaved his beard off and played much better on Saturday. Did a goal-saving tackle early in the game that I doubted he was capable of.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Macc went into free fall, the target for them was safety so anything now is a bonus for them. It’s a massive achievement what they’ve done, as for the top considering how awful Tranmere started I think they’ll go into win the League now, shows how poor the League has gone these past few years.
