Was hearing this from a SPort fan last week, he believed it was genuine. Our mate Macca, I'm guessing! Yes, believe they are monitoring Astles also. No way would Astles drop down a division? Confused 🤔

Play Mahon on the right and we’ve got one of the best wide men in the league.
I’ve heard McCarthy is interested in Davies, Joyce and Piercy.

Be interesting if Mahon does go to Southport - that'll be him and Shaw gone both of whom have other jobs and couldn't commit to fulltime training.
Personally even at 75% of his ability Mahon is worth the risk in our current situation. Opposition teams are wary of him, he can occupy at last one sometimes two opposition players which we just don't have elsewhere in the team. We've all said how badly we need natural wide players.

Sorry but I have to disagree I'm afraid. Apart from his winner at Southend, I just don't think Mahon is up to it. He doesn't create enough. If he was banging crosses in and our strikers were not converting then I would be inclined to agree. But he doesn't. When he has played, you can probably count on one hand the amount of goals he's set up. If anyone puts in an offer, take it.

On balance he doesn’t provide enough. I get that he adds a bit of impetus when he jinks forward but that’s only because no-one in our team can go forward other than on the back of a 30 yard hoof up the pitch. He got dispossessed really easily on several occasions today. He offers nothing in defence. He often dribbles until he loses the ball - which reminds me of my 10 year old’s matches every Saturday morning.

For half an hour today though, he and he alone provided more excitement from his attacking play than all the other players together have in the past three months. We actually looked like we could score goals. No good when your already three down though.
A fully fit and 'up for it' Mahon would see us easily safe in this League. Unfortunately his lack of fitness, injury proneness and the general lack of giving a toss from the rest of the team will see us relegated.

We have NO ONE who can beat a player in the team other than Mahon - yes he can give the ball away but we looked a better side today when he and Crawford were on the pitch. Playing James and Dawson out wide gives us bugger all going forward, they haven't the ability to beat a player or draw more than one player to them. When Mahon gets on the ball opposition players are drawn towards him creating (potentially) space for our other players.

Mahon must start every game he's fit for. He's by miles our most creative player.
Play three in centre mid if need be, but we need Mahon and Akintunde out wide and on the ball if we're going to score goals.

I’d play Mahon on crutches over that disgrace Dawson. In fact I’d play Liamaldo Davies over Dawson!

Mahon needs more game time to improve his fitness, but I have to admit it’s been a long time since he’s performed to the level his showed during the FA Cup run several years ago under Burr.
Even playing at 75% of his ability, I’d still start him on Tuesday along with LRT and Crawford.

Yes he was poor and anonymous today, I said that myself at half time he had barely touched the ball but to compare him to Liam is very harsh.

Did nothing for me today.
Always tries to beat to many men and gets dispossessed. As for crossing - at one stage he had 3 goes and didn't clear the first defender on any of them.
Time to say thanks but off you go Craig.

Another Macca Masterstroke In The summer.
