The writing has been on the wall for a while, I am not a rocket scientist but I do have an O Level in woodwork and have warned about this scenario on a few threads over the last couple of months (although didn't expect it this season). Longer term contracts, falling crowds, paying off failed managers, lack of fundraising, financial mismanagement. Regarding clauses in contracts, wonder if this is the real reason behind the "injuries" that we have had, spread over the season rather than drop half of the team when we reach 30 games? Even though I outrank you because my O-level is in metalwork, I have to concede that you make an interesting point.

Perhaps it would be an idea for everybody to go to the meeting with at least one or two questions in mind. What is it you really hope to have a clear understanding of by the end of the meeting? You might not have the time or courage to ask them, or somebody else might beat you to it, but if everyone carefully considers what they want from the meeting, it might help establish its direction. If you go to a job interview, you're advised to have a couple of questions ready to ask, and not just questions for questions' sake like "what time's dinner break?" Questions should improve our wider understanding of the situation, and should be challenging without being hostile or intimidating. I feel the majority of the questions I sent onto the club are no longer fit for purpose given what we now know. There are numerous questions regards the financials, commercial revenues, etc that need to be answered. It also needs full transparency (the cold hard facts and figures) no buzzword bingo from our CEO or board please. If they start buzzwording then we all need to drag them up on it and press for the full details however gory they may be. What do we "now know"? Personally, I still feel completely clueless.

Looking forward to the meeting. Be very interested to hear where the club is financially, and what working parties were formed following last nights meeting.
Hopefully we can be presented with a sensible short term solution to our cash flow, and a longer term solution to the "boom and bust" fingers-crossed-it-will-all-work-out methods this board have employed so far.
Also very interested to hear about how they are going to treat volunteers differently mlving forward to staunch the flow out we have experienced, and of how they will look to offer some degree of transparency to the supporters and owners moving forward.
Interesting times, if a little worrying.

Interesting times, if a little worrying. Sensible post, let us hope that most of the warriors on here join us at the meeting. I find that there is nothing better than hearing directly from those responsible for running our club in order to make my own mind up. As communication from the club outside of these meetings is generally poor, this only feeds the situation where rumour, pub talk, speculation and media hints morph into facts on discussion boards. The more that attend on Thursday the stronger the message. Get down there and form your own opinion, good or bad, and have the opportunity to let your feelings be known. If you don't want to stand up and question the board that is fine, try approaching an individual board member and let the know your concerns. You might not like what they are currently doing but they are like you fans who want the best for the club I am sure, even if they don't quite know how to achieve it. This meeting is vital to the process of moving forward, let us hope it doesn't degenerate into a blame fest. Yes things could have been done differently, but we need to learn and move on.

I can say for absolute certain that the moaners on here are either not signed up CFU members, won't go because they can't be arsed or will go and wont say jack shit.
I hope I'm wrong but it's likely to be a poor turn out and we won't be any the wiser.

It is very disappointing that there has been no communication to CFU members about the importance of the meeting. Disappointing but not surprising.
Every CFU member should receive an email outlining the situation and request everyone attends to hear, discuss and vote as required.
I suspect the main reason we are in the financial mire is the reduced crowds. It's as simple as that really. Nothing sinister, just the fact that we don't play well or win or entertain. People have had enough of watching rubbish.
My concern is that we haven't seen the worst if it yet. We will need to replenish the rainy day fund. No Sam Hughes money. Lower crowds for 2018/19 season. The budget may well be under £250k next season. A real concern if we have players on 2 year deals that may well cost us over half of that figure. Don't see where we get 12-14 players in with the remaining £125k?
That would reduce crowds further. We must clear out as many players as we can, if we have the opportunity to. New players would lift the crowd, at least until we see them play anyway!

Read on another thread that this seasons average is currently 1900 with Tranmere still to come, if true wont be far off the break even mark. Really need Thursday to come to make it clear exactly where we are and where the money has been spent.

"Just seen that you are sure people will not attend. Send me a picture of yourself via this or link to a public one, and I will come over and say hello on Thursday evening " Ah well. Thought I would log an attempt to prove him wrong offline as well as online. Again.

Is that just more abuse to prevent discussion? It seems odd you would make claims and not want to be open to being challenged on them. See you there sweetie x

Really odd that you say you can't see my posts as I am blocked, but you can reply and quote within a few minutes. Either way, offer is public there, and you are staying as the abusive keyboard warrior.

I haven't given any abuse out to you, only saying what everyone else is thinking. I hope you speak up tomorrow, I'd like the public to see what I see

Really strange behaviour. Proper internet oddball... For the record you yourself admitted abusing various people, including me, to shut us up from criticising the Board. That was your very own explanation. ps. The meeting is Thursday not tomorrow, but as a superfan you would know that.

Come on lads, get round the back of the Hmac and sort it old school. Everybody throws a couple of quid in a bucket to watch. We might make enough money to pay Ross Hannah for an hour.

Not doubting you, but all I can ascertain from this thread are rumours and hearsay. We don't know that it is. It's just that there's been cash shortage warnings at previous meetings if crowds don't pick up. We can all do the maths, and all the answers don't look good. Whether it is the Armageddon some forecast is debatable. My view is shown in the figures I posted in my original post. I bet I'm not far off. If so, we are seriously in the brown stuff for next season already.

Pray tell Rio, pray tell.... I know nothing yet. I was only told at the game last night by someone at the club that there’s going to be a big announcement today. They said a player departure and possibly someone in the boardroom. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Mark Maguire steps down. We’ll just have to wait and see.
