Just watched an episode of class of 92 which follows the fortunes of salford city in their quest to get in the conference and the ups and downs of a season
it is of course of special interest as we could be playing in conference north next season
as has been stated before conference north has changed since we breezed to the title a few years ago its now more professional better funded with alot of good teams in it .
i think in our position now in the conference we are heading towards a cross roads as a fan based club some fans say best to go down to CN and regroup others say best to stay in the conference(if we can of course) and continue the struggle to survive each season
whatever the outcome for us at the end of the season there has to be big changes in personnel both on and off the pitch clearly the present set up is not working do i have the answer ? , no i wish i did
The argument for going down to CN has strength less travel no overnight stays and the cost that goes with it better crowds (more away fans) and the football fans being a fickle bunch if we happen to do well in the lower league we will get bigger crowds(we all like to see a winning team)
im not saying i want to be relegated but we have to be realistic and unless we can string together a series of wins then the bottom 4 will happen we have had a couple of false dawns since the new manager came in(improved results) but then it reverts to bad results bad performance lack of passion etc its hard to know which chester will turn up each game
