Has anyone got any ideas which way I can get the cheapest ticket on the train, I normally book in advance but haven’t this time, don’t really want to spent £85 on the day. Thanks

Have used this method in the past and it has saved me a good amount of money.

If you could get to Crewe for 08:02, you can currently get on the 08:02 to London Euston with an open return for £40.80
A ticket from London to Maidenhead Return (No specific train required) is £12.80
A Chester to Crewe day return is £12.70 with no booking of a certain train required.
This total comes to £66.30 - While it isn't a massive saving as such, its £20 less than the £85 if you book straight from Chester to Maidenhead.

Doesnt look like its saving anything this weekend though. Could book split tickets yourself. But it will take a bit of time and patience!!
Chester-Birmingham 09:30-11:28 £19.50 Single Birmingham-Banbury 12:33-13:17 18:29-19:18 / £19.80 Return Banbury-Maidenhead 13:19-14:32 / 17:22-18:28 via Reading £19.20 Birmingham-Chester 20:15-2200 £10.50 via Crewe Total of £69 and dont need to get from Euston to Paddington which is another £5 with Oyster or Contactlass payment

Euston Sq-Paddington £2.40 one way £4.80 return. So nearly £5. But whatever im sure he'll sort it out and hopefully get himself a good deal

Nothing wrong with taking your bird to the game, it’s 2018, they’re even allowed to drive cars.
