Having read all the comments here about the board and CFU, I ultimately believe all the blame for any mess should be taken by the CFU.After all it is they who own the club. Now I'll wait for the backlash.

Enough finger pointing, more problem solving. It is only ourselves who can change this situation.

Enough finger pointing, more problem solving. It is only ourselves who can change this situation. We don't even know the full extent of the problem yet Danny. . If you try to fix a car without knowing what's wrong with it, how do you know its going to work? You'd go out blow a load of cash on new wheels, new tyre, new exhaust system, new gearbox etc etc. But if its the starter motor that's broken, all that work you've done and all that money and time you've invested has been to waste. I suppose the point I'm trying to make here is if you don't spend a bit of time trying to diagnose the root cause of the problem and just jump right in, you could end up trying to fix something that doesn't need to be fixed. So to put this in terms of the football club, we absolutely must have a full inquest tonight so that we know the root cause why our club has 'stalled'. Once it's all out we can work on putting it right.

A full inquest needs to be held tonight, once we know the absolute truth of it and the state of our finances we can start to look at ways to turn it around. Yes I agree with that Al. I've been too young to sign up to the CFU until last year, and have been wanting to sign up for when the boards actions warrant my support/money/membership. I will be driving down tonight and signing up on the door.

I think blame is probably the wrong word, for me responsibility for both the situation we are in and the responsibility for putting it right can rest only with the CFU, both its board and membership. We could do with a little help from those who wish not to be members but wish to have a club to support.

Wrexham fan here old enough to remember Sealand Road and watching Metcalfe, Delgado etc. Iam not in the hate Chester camp after all we’re are both fans owned. All I will say is join your trust even if you don’t agree with the ownership model, hope you receive all the answers possible from your meeting tonight and good luck for the rest of the season.

I suppose we have been a bit naive thinking or in this case not thinking that the drastic dip in gate receipts would not impact on our war chest ,plus money paying off the previous Manager. That said it should have been flagged up in no uncertain way by the Board so we were in no doubt as to the financial do do we would be in if things didn’t change, hopefully good can come from this massive setback and it gets us all pulling in the same direction instead of the constant bickering

Yes, if you like, although first can we 'blame' the CFU for ensuring that we still today have a football club to support rather than having increasingly distant memories of one? Now give your little head a wobble and start thinking of positive solutions and ways forward instead eh

You'd expect them to have learnt from previous mistakes, The Board are to blame for all of this way more Than Mark Maguire who everyone seems to point the finger at

I'm very much of the opinion that as fans, any time we point the finger at someone, the other three fingers point back at ourselves.
Personally, I'm always asking myself what I could have done differently. I know I don't have much free time or money, but have I always said and done the right things? Have I asked questions where necessary and not tried to dismiss other valid points? Have I been reliable and lent my services to the club as well as I might have? The answer to all those question is probably 'no'.
We started in 2010 with a clean slate and fresh hopes. Just seven and a half years later, pretty much all of that has gone, and there's no Vaughan, Smith, Gutterman, Barnes or anyone else we can blame for it this time. This is a self-inflected mess, and I really think everyone who calls themself a Chester fan needs to reflect on that.
