Afternoon All,
I am interested to know how many people own match videos involving our games at Sealand Road? If my memory serves correctly they were very expensive (£25 !)
I have the following:
v Notts County (89/90): 3-3 v. Huddersfield Town (89/90): 2-1
I used to own the game v Wolves (88/89) but can no longer find the video.
Also: does anyone know if the Fulham 7-0 (88/89) was filmed?
Thanks.

I used to buy match videos in the late 90s, think they were about £12. Unfortunately I don't think I have them any longer.
I missed the season reviews the club put out. Whether season was good or bad, it was good to have them.
I've seen the lists of plenty of football match collectors and no one has any Chester City, so unless any fans have videos hidden away they are very hard to find.

I have one against Blackpool that Crazy Badger put on DVD for me a number of years back. Game was from around 87/88. Seem to think we had Graham Abel playing up front for us due to injuries.

If you could get them put on DVD guaranteed you'd get a few takers , I know I'd have one. Wasn't the 1-1 with Wolves the game when Abel scored playing up front ?

Not sure where it is now but I picked up a DVD (copied from VHS) some time back of the home game from 1988-89 against Preston played the week after Hillsborough, Nigel Jemson scored a last minute winner for them.

That Preston game was my first taste of heartbreak watching Chester. Basically ended our play-off chances (think we had lost to Sheffield United during the week as well).Gutted.

Remember that game very well, a young Banksy spent most of the first five minutes singing Bull-shit at Steve Bull only to see him score in front of us in the Sealand Road end. Little did we know that Graham Abel would unleash a cracker of a shot that thundered into the top corner of the Wolves net. Brilliant goal. Don't think he played up front that day but if he did he was certainly more than a match for Steve Bull and Andy Mutch who were a lethal pair in our league that year.

No, he wasn't up front. He was in his normal position of centre-half and didn't have to move far to get his goal - it was from about forty yards. Must be in the top ten of goals seen at Sealand Road.

Consulting 'On the Borderline' it seems Steve Johnson and Carl Dale were the strikers that day.

I've got a half season review video from one of the seasons in the 90s somewhere - typical Chester though they never made one for the 2nd half of the season.

I have just remembered that a former work colleague of mine kindly let me borrow a video which contained the goals of our FA Cup win at Wrexham in 1987.
It was many years ago so will have to contact him and see if he still has it !
