Definitely to be kept on, missed him badly when he hasn't played last season, he played well for half of a last season, he unfortunately got dragged down with the dross in the second half of season.

Agree we've missed him massively when he's been out of the team, in hindsight that really was a silly red card

IMO Hunt would make a good captain.

IMO Hunt would make a good captain. Saw this my season last season, even though he was playing poorly at the time, he never gave up and has got that little something about him to lead the team

I was lucky enough to chat to him at the gym just after he was banned this time and I got the feeling that he loves this club and is desperate to do well for us.

Good to see these opinions. There are a lot of Wrexham fans with a real downer on Hunt for no discernible reason (they'll really hate him if you ever make him Captain!). Always tried hard for us and as you say he is Mr. Consistent. It's hard to pin point anything he excels at but he's just a good all rounder I think. The sort of player you need a few of at this level.
When he scored 11 for us before his Cambridge move he just had a knack of always being in the right place. Hehad a good understanding with Ashton and always gave us a much better shape when he played. He's a better LB though. Seems a decent bloke too.

Would prefer Hunt as a captain over Shaw or George personally. Always talking on the pitch and never shirks a tackle. Only thing that'd would go against him for me is how often he's suspended but I've probably just stated the root cause of that problem haha.

I felt sorry for Hunt last season as all the abuse was at him and Higgins, but it was only Higgins who wasn't playing well.

Hunt does need to be resigned, he's probably a good choice for Vice-Captain next season. Captain has to go to Shaw if he's with still with us, a true leader on the pitch, setting the example of work rate and effort required by the rest of the team.

There is absolutely no doubt Hunt is one of our better players without him we always struggle defensively for that speciality left back role Mr consistent and one I would welcome to sign up for another season

Hmm, what to say. He's done well this season in fairness after a shaky August, much like many others in the squad who were here last season. No complaints here now. See, I call it as I see it! That tinpot gaffe of his at Halifax last season still gives me nightmares though.

Another good performance from the lad again today. Reliable and steady, really good talker which helps a lot.

Hunt is one of about 8 key players we need to try and keep.
Sam will obviously go most probably along with Alabi.
The likes of Lloyd, Hunt, Astles, Lynch, Shaw and Mahon are players we got to sign up to give us a decent base to work from next season.

There has been an awful lot of "love this club, hoping to stay...if the offer is right for me" chat from our better performers? Anyone else worried we'll be left with the kids and the crap?

There has been an awful lot of "love this club, hoping to stay...if the offer is right for me" chat from our better performers? Anyone else worried we'll be left with the kids and the crap? That's the concern. Anyone who does well for us will hope for a better offer from another club, or at least a pay rise from us. It might not be the exodus you're expecting. Although I'd be surprised if the obvious targets didn't move on. I'd expect Hunt, Lynch, Hudson, George, Joyce, Chappell, Durrell and Mahon to stay if offered contracts. They're fairly local, it probably suits them to stay. Can't see them moving on for too much more money . Probably Shaw and Horwood too, if offered one. Astles may get a better offer, especially if Wrexham or Barrow want him. Otherwise he could stay. Lloyd may stay for football reasons. He seems to want to play, and improve, under Macca. A good offer might tempt him away though. Akintunde should stay. Assuming he's not injury prone we'd offer him something, and he'd likely play. Would Richards want to stay?

There has been an awful lot of "love this club, hoping to stay...if the offer is right for me" chat from our better performers? Anyone else worried we'll be left with the kids and the crap? I'm worried that Durrell, George, Joyce, Richards and Hudson get offered new deals and the consistent performers like Astles, Shaw and Mahon leave. If the likes of Durrell stay on and the better players leave then it could be a battle next season!
