Did anyone ask the question of interest too, given that 22.5k could have been in our bank account for the past seven months rather than Tranmeres.
Ok so interest rates are not that great, but in my opinion it's not the amount but the principle.

Noticed that Tranmere have already started advertising season tickets for next season even though they could potentially be playing in League 2.

So can anyone actually confirm how much the club added to the playing budget based on what they thought they'd get? Lobster mentioned 25k earlier, but that seems pretty optimistic and we've lost money based on that estimate. I think it's a pretty good fee to get for an out of contract player. £25,000 was put into the budget and spent. So we're down £2,500. 15% sell on clause and Ebbsfleet were interested in signing hm permanently for a fee. Could take it close to the 25K budgeted.

Just been on Tranmere forum The Paddock and they are not happy with the outcome They took a player who banged in 5 goals in his first match for them then turned him to shit. I’ve never seen the magic coached out of a player so quickly.

D-day in a way as this was in the budget at a fair whack. What was it, expecting £30k? Likely to be £7500 someone told me. Said person (a Tranny) is outraged showing me the message earlier at work, called it 'theft' and 'basically a emotional decision' by the panel. Wonderful scenes !

Hopefully Ebbsfleet are as daft as Tranmere and pay 20k! No, I hope he stays at Tranmere next season, they have a striker crisis and have to play him and he bangs in goals left right and centre and gets a £1m transfer to a premiership team!

They signed a 22-year-old player who scored 17 goals in his first full season in this division - in fact his record throughout his time with us is about 2 goals every 5 games, which isn't bad at all given what a poor team was playing in. He had been looked at by League clubs and capped by England C, and was one of the most talked about young strikers in the division last season.
How Tranmere have used him and what they have done to him is their problem, not ours. The valuation is a fair one.

Statement issued by TRFC -
“Tranmere Rovers Football Club can confirm that an FA tribunal has reached a decision on the transfer of James Alabi. Contrary to some media reports, the Club did not refuse to negotiate with Chester.
“Ultimately, the tribunal’s award was materially closer to the Club’s best offer than to that most recently put forward by Chester and we are pleased that the matter has now been drawn to a close.”

Just read some angry Tranmere fans on another forum. They reckon that Palios offered £20k with a 15% sell-on. They claim that we were asking for £70k. I think that's a porky. I just replied that it's not our fault that they didn't scout him. £23k will do.

But I do recall at the CFU meeting , Lawrence Kirby saying that optimistically we were hoping for 40k, although 25k was budgeted for. I suspect that tranmere offered nowhere near 20K, but doubt we will ever really know given the nature of negotiations.

I suppose we can always make it up to them by allowing at least 2000 tranny fans to attend the home game ! but given their reluctance in paying-up so far , perhaps tranny fans should only be able to buy tickets direct from us ? Would this also prevent TRFC from taking a % from the tickets they sell ?

He was an unused sub for Dover today, I think he's finished there. I did himself no favours by not showing up for Training and going to watch Ebbsfleet. Happy with the amount so I think we can forget anything from that 15%

Budgeted for is the interesting comment, in terms of the predicted losses etc that is built in. Yay.
