I know this has been discussed to death, but why exactly is this taking so long?
There was talk at the meeting of asking Leicester if they would pay the Sam Hughes installment early. Could we ask the FA to get a move on with this as well?
Alabi joined Tranmere on July 10th - almost SEVEN whole months ago. We're entitled to a fee for him, we haven't yet had a penny and we're now facing cashflow issues. What are the FA prioritising ahead of this at this stage?

It is almost farcical that these things are left so long when it's clubs like us who need every single penny we can get.

A tranmere fan gave me 40 pence earlier towards our 'plight'. Every penny helps I guess! He said it was to cover the cost that Tranmere owe us for Alabi. I fear he won't be too far wrong.

Tony Thomson
Wes Baynes George Horan Ben Henegan Jonny Hunt
Elliott Durrell Ryan Lloyd Sean McConville Ian Howard
Michael Wilde George Thompson
All left Chester FC free of charge in the past few years, and any one of them better than anything in the current squad. Could probably name at least a dozen more still capable. How have we got to the point where we are signing lesser players on more money and excluding many because of the full-time attitude that currently exists?

i think you will find that sean mcconvile left for a fee(i cant recall how much) if i remember rightly it was mid season and the decision was left to sean stay or go and he stated it was too good an offer to turn down a return to the football league he has been scoring for fun since his return they certainly got their moneys worth

Tony Thomson - I liked Tony tbf
Wes Baynes - Come on now. George Horan - Sure even he would accept Ben Henegan - Left to further his career and should have been a fee Jonny Hunt - fair
Elliott Durrell - Fair, albeit had his knockers Jan - April understandably Ryan Lloyd - agree Sean McConville - £8K fee to a higher club Ian Howard - lol
Michael Wilde - I love the guy but be serious George Thompson - Is plodding along in the league below.

Ryan Lloyd wasn't ours, but I wonder if we made him an offer?

Thought it was really odd the way we didn't seem to entertain the thought of signing Ryan Lloyd last summer. He could run all day and was a good footballer too. He lost his way from January onwards, but they all did.
He'd have been a massive improvement on Turnbull or James, and probably for half the wages.

Once we signed James the Lloyd deal went dead think we offered him a contract but probably peanuts i'd easily have Lloyd over James and McCombe

Theo Vassell wasn’t ours either, but I’m sure we had first refusal.

At the time there was almost total agreement that James was a better signing. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I don't recall anyone clamouring for us to sign Lloyd. Turnbull, James, Hannah, Halls and MCombe all looked like decent signings - arguably they have all let us down.

D-day in a way as this was in the budget at a fair whack. What was it, expecting £30k? Likely to be £7500 someone told me.

I'd hope it's five figures at least though. As I've said a few times, the fact that he hasn't been a success at Tranmere should make no difference to what we receive for him.

The tribunal is only looking at his transfer value last summer. It’s what Chester valued him at to what Tranmere did and providing back up evidence to make a case. I still think it’ll be about £15,000. Otherwise a player could move and pick up a career ending injury. Then his value would be £0 but the original club would still want money.

Might be better to just take what we can get and have the cash quickly.

Must be strange for the buying club in a tribunal having to put forward a case that your player isn't worth very much!
