Vs Eastleigh next Saturday
I’d go for this
Hornby
Halls - Jones - Astles - Gough
Mahon - Crawford - Roberts - Waters
White - Archer
Hopefully, James, Turnbull and Hannah are shipped out this week. Can’t wait to see the back of them 3

Halls is one of those with a 30 game extension clause we don't want to trigger that bugger!

It pains me to say it but I'm really not that bothered which 11 start - my disconnect with this lot is almost total.
Of course I'll be there, of course I'll be supporting them and hoping for a rare win but my confidence that this team and manager can conjure up some sort of revival is virtually gone.
Think it will be a very strange atmosphere on Saturday. Those there will be there primarily, I suggest, to aid the club in it's current situation but I envisage a flat atmosphere unless the players step up to the mark (unlikely in my view)

I’ll be there too as usual.........probably least excited that I’ve ever been. Guess the gate .......1498

Hornby
Halls - Jones - Astles - Waters
Mahon - Crawford - Roberts - Rowe-Turner
Archer - Akintunde
It really isn't that difficult given our options. Back four almost picks itself at the moment because of injuries. Rowe-Turner needs to be taken out of that defence and pushed onto the wing, he's much better going forward than defending (been saying this all season) - put Waters at LB in Gough's absence. Roberts and Crawford in the middle because they both know how to pass a ball to a blue shirt. Archer and Akintunde should be our front two for the rest of the season. Both will probably be here next season, they compliment each other's styles and are both young - get them used to playing with each other.
For me, this is part of the problem - I actually don't think on paper that XI is that bad, I just don't think they're motivated. And unfortunately, from what I've seen of Bignot, he is no motivator.
I honestly think if we had a manager who insisted on the basics and can motivate a group of players, we could still stay up.

With the budget cut by around 50% we will struggle to put a decent team together in conference North never mind this division.

McCombe was the other one and he's already gone. Believe Halls has agreed to waive the extension clause in his contract.

For what's it's worth I think Hannah should start, with White up front. Akintunde just behind, to try to get some sort of link from the midfield. Archer and White were totally ineffective on Saturday. At least Hannah looked dangerous, even if his finishing seems to have deserted him.

Not sure why there is a dislike towards Hannah. He gives 100% everytime he puts the shirt on. Yes, he's struggled this season and he should have stayed here last season (but if you are getting a massive pay rise and in your 30's I can fully understand the reasons) but his effort can never be criticised.
At the end of the day Bignot would screw up Man City's squad with his Sunday league hoofball tactics so he's the one who deserves a bit of stick.

Gale Thompson Jones Dobson Downes Hellawell Noble Crawford Waters Marsh-Hughes Dickinson They would probably be short on the physical side, but I doubt they could be worse than the first XI.

It's a weird one. We should be fighting for our lives - a couple of wins and we are right back in the mix and the crowd would get behind the team. Yet the players and manager seem to have thrown in the towel.

To be fair it was half tongue in cheek but let me ask you, has it not been embarrassing so far with so called full time professionals? And haven't our BEST 2 players in recent weeks be Crawford and Jones? Yes you're right they may get bullied but I tell you what they will give you, they'll give you more in terms of effort & commitment than anything we've seen so far this season from the full time professionals and you know what if we are going to rely on younger players more next season their personal development will be accelerated massively in readiness. So maybe not quite as crazy as you may think

Just carnt believe why some fans are getting on Ross Hannas back we were all made upwhen he came back and signed we know he is a top striker and can score goals I think he has been very unlucky this season with injuries he is a top lad and loves the club if he had been fit all season we wouldnt be where we are now still believe if he can stay injury free and get a decent run in the team his goals will keep us up as long has the midfield can sort them selves out and give the forwards a bit of support

It's weird that people have a downer on the only natural goal scorer we have. How short people's memories are. It's not his fault that he has suffered injuries nor is it his fault that he is on a decentish wage and a 2 year contract.

Well done Billy for that i also think Harry White has been a bit unlucky with his ijuries Hanna AND White with a couple of good wingers and decent midfield will be like Cook and Norward if we keep them next season or shall i say if we can afford them ?

I can see your point and tend to agree, but I was talking about the way Bignot handles his players and also the way he talks down the youngsters. He'd be the first one to do damage to their confidence.

Sorry but Hannah has been abject all season. I cant wait to see the back of all the big earners. Probably the best forward we've got in terms of goalscoring, but when he's not on form he contributes nothing else. Always tries to shoot even when there are better options, offside too often, hold up and link play generally poor. I said on Saturday before he came on that he would get one great chance and miss it. That's the pattern at the moment. Same at Thurrock. Having said that he does at least offer a threat and at our level you don't expect a great conversion rate - in the position we are in he has to play from the start and maybe build some confidence by getting more time on the pitch. Archer could play for a month and not score.
