Played really well today. Did the dirty work and kept us ticking.
Not saying he's the man to thread a ball through a packed defence, but he showed his qualities today and put a mammoth shift in.

Good to hear, he's been slated recently, by myself to. So hopefully they're all improving.

I thought Joyce was dreadful in the first half and he seemed unclear where he was supposed to playing and who he was picking up. Did you notice the heated discussion with Shaw and George towards the end of the first half , presumably about the lack cover for George who looked shaky at full back. But fair do's, when Shaw went off he did step up, but there was no disguising the massive hole in our midfield, and Jmc was absolutely right to be positive in his last sub in bringing Mahon, as opposed to Hudson and try and hold out.

Played well today - did a lot of the stuff that usually goes unnoticed. Getting a foot in, tracking runners, cutting space down, preventing the pass etc.

Just the kind of workmanlike performance we needed today. Not everybody's cup of tea, but that kind of player is never a favourite, apart from Nobby Stiles maybe.

He was a lot better after Shaw and George went off, stepped up. He will pit a good shift in and cover a lot of ground. Decent squad member, there are others who don't work as hard

He hasn't done it for me thus far. But I never went today or against Dagenham where the feedback was positive. I was never a Shaw fan either and he's turned in to Roy Keane this season. So basically I will give the lad a chance and I have faith in the managements ability to improve players.

Always thought the criticism of Joyce has been way over the top - he works hard and gets the basics spot on, which is more than can be said for some others. Added to that, he's probably one of our lowest paid players - I think he's pretty good value for money.

If you're right about his salary, then maybe that's a valid point about his being value for money.

Did well today, some of the critisism is a bit out of order.

Did well today, some of the critisism is a bit out of order. Guys, it's one average performance, Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I'm not one to criticise any Chester player, but I wouldn't say he played particularly well today, just didn't play badly. I think he needs a run of games and to work on his positioning but we could maybe make good of him yet!

Fair play, I have been very critical of this guy but he put a shift in today, worked his socks off.
Still would rather have Shaw in our centre mid rather than right wing which was bizarre but gives us hope that Joyce can be a squad player.

i really wanted shaw to go last summer apart from the last few games he done nothing to warrant a contract
this season shaw has stepped up a lot and took on george role he's done the hard work and deserves praises
thought him and joyce done well today shaw was unlucky not to score i'd have him and alabi as my first 2 on the team sheet

That should be a given!! I'm sorry but this guy is gash, negative moving the ball forward and is slow to react on the break. If his best attribute is working hard then that tells you everything.
