2 more players heading for the exit. The chronicle has got an annoying habit of continually building my hopes up. Says another National League team are monitoring James and 2 are interesting Southport. Who have the much loved, McCarthy as assistent to Kevin Davies.
At least he could do us a favour and take his dross, with him.

Another story about players leaving towards the end of each week giving Bignot the excuse that he couldn't plan for the game because he didn't know who would be here! As poor as they have been it must be even more unsettling for the players who know that their names have been circulated and if anything will stop them even more as they do not want an injury before any possible transfer.

I've heard Astles is wanted by Southport, if they have a shirt big enough.

I don't understand how you can say that it's unsettling for the players to have their names circulated, but it's not for the manager when it comes to preparing his team for a match? Let's be real here, it's unsettling for both, regardless of if we like MB or not. As for the Astles - Southport rumours, that would be suicidal for the club, releasing their best player to a possible playoff rival next season in the NLN.

Good to hear that 'Sir Jon' is still looking to stand by these no hopers! Would do us a massive favour if he could take a few off our hands.

4 Players have turned down the chance to move this week while another player looks to be departing Well at least we can have a little bit of respect for the one who is leaving. At least they’ve agreed to help the club by getting their wage off the bill, and possibly earn a lesser wage, and at a lower level

4 Players have turned down the chance to move this week while another player looks to be departing I'm guessing they couldn't accept the wage decrease. Happy Just to sit here and take money off hard working people. They should do the decent thing and walk away and understand the situation. ***** Hope they don't ruin a good night by showing up tomorrow.

These player's may have a family and a mortgage to support, and cant afford a reduction in salary.
I can see your point about costing your club money. But would you do the same if your place of work had financial problems.

The club offered them the money and length/terms of the contract and therefore they are under no obligation to leave until the end of that contract unless they can find a club willing to pay them more or works out cheaper with lower mileages etc.

Makes me sick to think that some of these players are only here for the money and are not putting in enough effort in on the pitch.
People can talk about them having mortgages and families to support, but at the end of the day if I persistently failed to perform in my job like they have been, I’d be sacked!
They should have never been given lucrative 2 year contracts in the first place, so if the players won’t move on, then they simply have to start pulling their socks up and EARNING their money!

All of the players have been told that if they find another club they can leave. Ridiculous way to run a professional club. And it’s still £18 to sit down at the game on Saturday.

We will struggle to stay in the conference north That's up to us fans. If we continue fund raising as we have been that will make unreal difference, maybe adding 50% budget across next season. You perhaps under estimate the difference we can make to our own fate next season if we get relegated. Don't get me wrong, a 250k budget in NLN is around average, but with recent events of fundraising and real community spirit we can ensure that is increased a fair amount of used correctly. Not always about money, it's about how we use it too. This seasons a classic example given its the biggest budget we've ever had as Chester FC.

Players get injured, just aren't good enough etc. But this bunch of idiots have taken the piss, in some cases for up to two years. Have they played like they have families relying on them? No, not at all. Do they play like they actually care for the club that are paying said mortgage, in the majority I'd say no. The sooner 95% of these are gone, the better. We must learn from this, and never again give a contract of over 12 months to anybody under the age of 23. How on earth did anybody ever think paying Ross Hannah £900 a week was sustainable for a club of our size?

I agree with your comment about wages at an unsustainable cost. In a way this summarizes fan owned optimism. Should we be prepared to wait and slowly build a base of hungry young players on a lower wage in the knowledge this mean a lower league. Or do we accept investment for a short term boost of income which allows a higher standard ( in theory!) player who would push us up the table and provide impetus for bigger gates. I’m either the former...I’d rather build from youth and gain an identity

It would be a ridiculous way to run a football club in normal circumstances. But it's become clear the squad is a massive pile of shite. Any outgoings that help us to get cheaper, more motivated players in for the remainder of the season that *might just* keep us up should be welcome. In addition, any surplus wages go towards the club's coffers. Win-Win on every front.

Players such as Vardy didn't make it until later in his 20's and we'd be pulling our hair out if we didnt offer someone like that a two year deal, regardless how rare it is that happens. I think maybe 28+ two year deals are questionable. I must also add that R.H isn't on £900 a week. Don't agree with his two year deal, but that isn't what he's been offered and at the end of the day with a family to support, he's got to take care of himself. It's not been a lack of effort on Ross' front, which perhaps is the case with other players.

I do agree he try's when he's on the pitch, I'd never question that. It's just getting him on there in the first place.

Agreed changes appear to have been made for the better. Club unrecognisable from two weeks ago? Really I know what you are suggesting and agree but there are still half a dozen or so sniffing around the board who are generally by in large responsible for the mess. I still can’t get my head around some of ridiculous things that were sanctioned knowing that they were not viable financially. As previously mentioned the board must now keep in touch with fans frequently to provide regular honest updates regarding the clubs well being. We must tread extremely cautiously moving forward as I for one need to be convinced after this shambolic state of affairs. BTW to all connected with tonight’s fund raising. I am extremely grateful and very proud of all associates with it. Well done to all.
