Not for the off-topic section, but politics in the sense of support for us by local politicians following on from the welcome appearance by Ellesmere Port & Neston MP Justin Madders for the All Stars last night (he also gave a good bit of social media publicity - Justin Madders We also got good and welcome support from the Tory controlled council when we reformed as regards the ground. But I have often wondered why we struggle to get support and interest from our own MP's over the years. In my own adult life there have been 3 Tories (Peter Morrison, Gyles Brandreth and Stephen Mosley) and 2 Labour (Christine Russel and now Chris Matheson) but I don't remember any of them being very supportive of their local team. In fact (and I say this a decades long Labour Party member), I was very disappointed given the involvement of Justin Madders that the actual Chester MP Chris Matheson couldn't even be bothered to mention last nights match at all on his own social media let alone join the campaign to save the club. Yes, I know the bloke is a Toffees season ticket holder, but why the apparent lack of interest in the real Blues on his doorstep?

Christine Russell did offer support during the ISA days to be fair but you're right, overall they've tended To swerve the club. I'd hazard a guess that if we were pulling several thousand at home games they'd be bouncing up and down on the Harry Mac. As a rule of thumb I tend to view them as self serving vermin, personally.

Christine regularly bought up our club’s plight in Parliament in the past when we were in trouble in the past, unlike Brandreth who didn’t even know where the stadium is.
Our current MP Chris Matheson regularly attends the games and is a true supporter who I often see and chat to in the Blues Bar and the Main Stand. Not the same can be said for Moseley who was very reticent in any public support for our club and who I saw at one game during his entire tenure in Parliament.

"Self serving vermin" I like that description. I might nick it for future use when talking about politicians - any politician.

Mosley was up at the front for the relaunch night at the Guildhall, looking bemused by the “what a waste of money” chants directed towards Daryl Clare!

Chris Matheson is often at Chester games. He's definitely a Blue.

As soon as the game was announced I tried to get in touch with both asking them to help highlight our plight with a bit of publicity, Justin Madders replied near enough straight away and as we know put his boots on, Top bloke, Chris Matheson never replied, think he is too bussy sucking up to Jezzer now he has been promoted to the opposition front bench.

In my simple view of the world, I'm a firm believer in keeping politics out of sport!
On this forum, I don't judge the validity of people's posts, thoughts etc by their political allegiances - I simply consider them on their merits.
