And with some players that we should be familiar with, Sean McConville, Scott Brown (underrated at Chester), Aaron Chapman in goal and just joined Danny Williams.

Was a big Fan of McConville and Brown Never understand why Sean got the stick he did we've never replaced him and i dont think we're anywhere close to replacing him anytime soon either

It can be done. Don't particularly like Coleman, but he has this ability to work wonders at Accrington. He's tried his luck elsewhere, Rochdale among others, and it's not come off. Askey does a similar job at Macclesfield. I wonder what he's do with Astles?

Great read, the only problem with us is the expected budget for next season (certainly on players) works out at around £3,500 a week (based on part-time 44 week contracts).

I would hope contracts would be part time in a sense that the players won't be paid for the summer close season, as previously. I guess you could say it's actually full-time but for 44 weeks rather than 52, sorry - I should've been clearer!

Yeah i get what you mean now, Extra days training is vital in my opinion especially in the conf north will give us a step ahead most teams

I'd rather players on 1 year contracts from next season and if all going well get them renewed around about the final month of each season

This 15k a week figure is the wage bill alone, the club running costs will be much higher. There is no way Accrington or any club could operate in League 2 on such a figure , up until 2015 they were 1.2 million in debt and close to bankruptcy. Articles like this are misleading as New owner wrote debts off and invested 600k into club and he continues to provide support.

Bottom line we need investment - the 95k will soon be gone and we won't be able to do the same fundraising again - we have also been saved by Alabi money and Hughes payment - the well is getting bone dry - without real investment we will either go under or naturally slide to a sustainable level of football Evostick North

Then it's up to us to invest then isn't it?

Truth is that managers like Askey Coleman etc can operate on small budgets. Imagine either one of them given the 450k McCarthy pissed? We would challenging for the play offs. They do it by getting unfancied players and developing them. 450k was a play off budget in the right hands. So many people talk about the need for investment, but its what you do with the funds created that makes a good manager.

As a football league club with the additional hand outs that come with it. You have to remember that as a national league club we get next to nothing beyond what we generate ourselves. £750,000 as a FL club is very comparable to the £450,000 McCarthy pissed away last summer in context.
