Fasten my seatbelt aye in the car park at half time after the 8th successive home defeat against the mighty Curzon Ashton Cheer up Fred maybe I am on my own but I am really looking forward to see what sort of a squad they can put together if they are kept on as a pair, only time will tell but no need to slash our wrists just yetš

Can't do any harm to have NY back on board but oh, what a total shambles he's come back to.
Hard to believe we're the same club.

Welcome back Neil firstly. With things as they currently stand this canāt be anything other than good news for the club. Letās see how they get on over these 9 games first. Then we can run through ideas for next season.

It might be great news but with not a pot to piddle in and no quality players what can he do even the Great Soprendo couldn't change our fortunes He's there to assist Bignot. The guy has no supporting staff of his own bar Callum who has his own job to do with the youth academy. Eases pressure on Bignot and allows him to have someone there to bounce ideas off. And it appears Neil's role is entirely voluntary as well. He never had any players first time round but chose excellent ones and managed two promotions. He is also obviously Chester at heart and understands our plight. Barrow does also and took us to greater heights but we missed the boat with him and he won't work under the same generous terms that NY will. Much will depend on how Bignot and NY get on as to whether they become a duo next season....that and funding two. My guess its NY next season if we go down which sadly seems to be inevitable now...everyone seems to have thrown in the proverbial towel. Sadly...

It was slightly tongue in cheek if I'm honest. But it's pretty obvious that Young will be the boards inside man and is likely to take over from bignot for the new season. He's failed at every club he's been at since leaving us, and without a massive pot of money that he waded through in his first 3.5 years I'm not sure he's the right man for us. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong but I'm massively sceptical. If you believe everything you read in the paper then fine, be led down that path if you choose I don't believe everything I read in the paper fella. I also don't take much stock in conspiracy theories. I agree I wouldn't like to go back with his as a manager but he's already announced his retirement from management and I can't see him going back on that. "Iād never say never in terms of management. For me to take another football managerās job Iād have to have a chance of being successful. Iāve always believed in my own ability but it would have to be something special. I donāt mean financially, but a strategy, a plan that gives you time to build a club.I know time in football now is difficult. Iām a great believer in never say never". Not sure where we are going to get a better team than this , on our budget? Not just one but 2 managers who have won the Conference North. Got to be worth a go. Clearly Youngy is there to give advice on the football side , that has been sadly lacking. It is up to the board to provide the strategy for them to implement. ( Developing our own players, developing players disgarded by league academies and scouting and developing players from the lower leagues). This should be highly possible with Bignots knowledge of the Midlands and Youngys knowledge of the North West

It's a shame, he was brought in under extremely difficult circumstances and we will never see the best of him.

Now we have Neil Young back which I welcome Mr Bignot should be shown the door. Neil is here to assist Marcus, not to replace him. Let's just see what these last 9 games are like, then re-assess. I expected us to get 5 points from these game (if we beat Torquay) so anything above that will be success.

I'm kind of halfway between "bring back the good times" and "it will all end in tears". I really, really would like it to work, and short-term it can only be a good thing for the feelgood factor, if nothing else.

Neil Young should replace Bignot nothing dramatic is going to change in the remaining games....but i do expect Bignot to leave at some point, probably the end of the season...to be honest...i really cant assess the man(Bignot) as he has had very little or no funds to play with, but what little he did have in his locker...it wasn't that little bit of magic or luck...which was desperately needed..

Neil Young should replace Bignot And youāll be calling both incompetent by 5pm tomorrow. Lol. should only be one man in the technical area tomorrow and that man is jimmy soul, he's forgotten more about football than bignot and youngy have ever known and he'd do it all for expenses, top blue

Neil Young should replace Bignot No chance, not saying Bignots the man but no way Neil Young is! We were a big fish in a little pond till we got to the National league, and the turn over of players were unbelievable, we had the pick of the players at that level with the pull of playing for an ex league club with gates of 2.5k. He just bought the best players from the other teams in the league. Massive backward step.

Sorry, but I would give Bignot and Youngy a go next season. 2 managers who have won the Conference North. Name 2 managers who have their experience who would come here on our budget?

I like Neil Young and this club will forever be in his debt for what he achieved but he was found out in the conference when he had to work with a budget, struggled at both Stockport and altrincham since leaving us.

He seemed to do pretty well at Colwyn Bay with no budget didnāt he. In what league? He got them into the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division 1 North play-offs in 2009, then got them promoted to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier the following season.

I think he was rightly making the point that managing a small budget in the Evostick is a different ball game to managing a small budget in the Vanarama leagues.

So much more money and competition around.
