Can't wait to see what new threads Steve's invested in for his big tv gig. Has anyone told Arrogant Blue?!

Burr is like Bart Simpson, only ever seen him in one outfit (white shirt and grey v neck jumper and that fake Barbour quilted jacket which is two sizes too small)! The club should charge him 18 notes admission but that will be small change to the amount of money he wasted. No doubt sycophants like Richard will be kissing his Prada loafers when he returns a la Chester 2 Southport 2!

Steve Burr's analysis will be something like this. "I feel Chester lack a left winger in their side, so they may need to dip into the transfer market to look for a striker"

Burr did a good job here and was a nice bloke too some people just have it in for him for no reason. He gave us some great memories especially in the cup. Think he deserves more respect from certain posters on here.

He spent every week offending the board by bemoaning the budget that restricted him to 365 loan signings, all of whom played on the left wing, then plain erased us from the history book of his managerial career in the Non-League Paper. He showed absolutely no will to embrace the community side of things, unlike his successor who threw himself deep into the ethos of the club from the start to the present day, and seemed to just turn up for training and on a match day for a couple of hours in between his important rounds of golf.
Best manager in non-league football? Tessuti got the boot-y at his last two clubs.

Yes we did finish in the relegation zone but I'm very sure he wasn't in charge all of that season...... I feel the criticism for Burr is a bit over the top that's all

Up to a point I think Burr did a reasonably good job here but it just unravelled in the last few months. For what itโs worth I think he would have kept us up last season by the skin of his teeth. As it turns out we only needed one win from those last four games that McCarthy was in charge for and I think heโd have got it at home to that pitiful Welling team. If you look at his record, first season he improved us but the damage had already been done before he arrived, second season we just scraped in to the top half with a good cup run and then last year started well but fell apart.
He brought in the likes of Heneghan and Alabi on a permanent deals and we got to see the likes of Taylor and McBurnie in a Chester shirt for short periods. He did moan about the budget a bit too much for my liking and that last half season was incredibly poor but Iโve got nothing particularly against the bloke. Iโm indifferent towards him, he had good moments and bad moments, but some of our fans are obsessed, god knows why.

had no problems with burr he took us far as he could but the timing was right to dismiss him as it looked at the time we would go down
my only problem i had with him was the blame on the budget the blame on the players but never took the blame himself
my opinion i thought he harshly dropped tony thompson for flapper after the barrow game
i certainly would not shake his hand and say thanks for all you did here

Unlike Macca I don't think Burr got what a fan owned club was about. Always moaning about the budget and showing his frustration, and very reluctant to give our own Youth players a chance - instead rather bringing in some young kid from Bolton, Bournemouth or wherever.

Always moaning about the budget and showing his frustration, and very reluctant to give our own Youth players a chance - instead rather bringing in some young kid from Bolton, Bournemouth or wherever. Don't forget that Macca moaned about the budget a few times last season, which as the CEO of the Community Trust I thought was wholly inappropriate. He seems to have gone the other way this season and is really positive about our situation and it's a breath of fresh air, but is that because he was just toeing Burr's party line last season or is it because we're doing ok now so there's no reason to blame the budget? Hopefully it's former. Be interesting to see how inquisitive Natalie Quirk is with Burr, and whether he appears to hold any grudges with his lowly assistant doing a much better job than him.
