Hi Guys, Sure you've heard before about our annual Chester Fans FC vs Wrexham Supporters charity events. The first of this years game is taking place at the Deva Stadium, or should I say Lookers Vauxhall Stadium! 20th May, 2:30pm kick off. Admission is £1, and a raffle will be taking place as well as refreshments and the blues bar will be open after. Always a great day, and hopefully a Chester victory! This years charity is the Amelia-Mae Foundation (http://www.ameliamaefoundation.co.uk/). Any donations, from a pound to a tenner, or even more can be donated here: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ChesterFansvWrexhamSupportersCharityMatch. More information can be found at our event page: www.facebook.com/events/264552450652532/264939113947199. Thanks all, hope too see you there!

I did see a post on social media last week that there was a recent friendly between the two teams during which our players mocked the disability of Wrexham's player-manager. As a disabled Chester fan myself I am disgusted with that behaviour from a group of lads supposedly representing a community, inclusive football club.
Good luck with this charity game anyway.

Ace how rumours get around! Like chinese whispers with social media these days. Would help if it was one of our players! Always get negatives don't we. Typical Deva Chat ay!

I go to every game that these lads are involved in. They give so much time, dedication and they are also all financially out of pocket as they pay for their own pitches £180 a time at Airbus £250 for our ground! To hear people making out they mock the disabled when they raised £1000 last year to help Betsi walk is just beyond me! I think people need to actually go and see these games support the lads themselves before trying to give them bad publicity on here it's totally uncalled for!

The comments made was by a spectator and the Chester players was wrongly accused I myself was on the bench and it didn't not come from a player of the Chester fans team ! All this vicious rumours will ruin the hard work of young individuals who are trying to do their bit for each charity they play for , as a collective have twisted over £2500 in a small number of games is brilliant and that should be applauded so please come down watch the games and enjoy them and see for yourself , we are not trouble makers and the only reason we are bein made out the bad team is beucase of horrible rumours after our recent win over Wrexham where the boys played amazingly and it feel like sour grapes to me from their side

I go to the games and my boy plays. These lads are not trouble but are just passionate. They do wonders for their chosen charity.

Don't they have a fight every game?
After every match Chester lose and there's a video on a "banter" page of these kids having a scrap on the pitch. It's good they want to raise a few quid but with that comes a responsibility to play the game in the spirit of the occasion.
Listen I don't know them but some do and should perhaps have a word.

No they don't have a fight every game.
Do you actually attend any of these games?
If you did then you would know what goes on. Yes, there are some tasty challenges during games and the odd sending off but it is football played exactly how it should be.
These lads are doing their very best to raise money for local charities and they do seek advice from adults on this and that and if things do get out of hand then they are told, so just so you know people do have a word, but it's done in a good way so they don't lose heart and carry on doing a great job.

Football shouldn't be played with people getting sent off. That's why you get a red card..

Personally don't remember a game i played when i was 15-18 where there wasn't some form of fight and a sending off. It's not professional football it's a bunch of lads and a ball you should expect a bit of a tasty spectacle.

There has never been fighting or any violent conduct in the official charity games. These matches are done purely for charitys and the players who turn up, pay for the pitch, train week in week out, know and respect that. That's why they're part of it. We do see some red cards shown, yes. But it is football, and a tasty rivalry. I am in no way condoning it at all, however. It is being dealt with and hopefully should see a decrease of the reds in the future. I think you all should actually pop down to the Deva game, and see what its like for yourself, help raise money for local charities and get behind your own fans, rather than being negative about something you've heard on social media.

One thing I seen on Facebook the other day was a spat between presumably Chester Supporters and what looks like the organiser from Wrexham. As much as I didn't agree with what the organiser was saying about referee's I was however disgusted to see people throwing abusive comments and swearing at him as well as accusing him of games not being for charity and all about winning. Why would the games not be for charity if the lad has had a hand in raising money by organising games. It was all a bit pathetic from both sides really. I think it was a little bit disrespectful and thought our community run club was better than that

As an organiser myself I feel it's very much a minority that are throwing abuse and it doesn't show the true stance of our games so we are trying to stamp these out. I hope that you can all attend in May and realise the true meaning of the games. Ben works extremely hard for a youngster of his age to do this is excellent. I urge you all to come down and support the cause and your own fans to what will be an excellent event
Cheers Liam (Wrexham Event Organiser and Manager)

Very humble response Liam and i'm sorry you're leaving it all. I did attend the game at the Deva last year and you seemed unfazed by all the actions of the spectators. However I won't be attending this one as it's disgusting the abuse you've received. I wish you well and hope it's a good game and raise lots for charity
Regards Mark
