Our club is desperate for any money it can get in a big part of which is ticket sales , why on Earth do we make it so awkward to buy them ? We have no online facility available ( in this day and age !!!) and we still have this ridiculous situation where you cannot buy a ticket for a future game before a home match !!!!!! I understand the office is mainly staffed by volunteers and they do a good job but why can a box of tickets for future games not be out ready ? It would cost nothing, they could also be in the club shop too ! I was going to buy a Tranmere ticket which should have been available pre match but they were not on sale until 5pm ! Before people start saying they have been available a while, not everyone can get down to ground with work family etc so matchday is the ideal time. This is an issue that must change asap so please if the board read this do something about it.

There must surely be a common sense solution to this, than simply expecting to fans to wait and queue up after the latest debacle, when quite frankly most of us have had enough. i understand that you can buy tickets over the phone, but queuing up to pick up tickets on a busy matchday is not ideal either.

We've just started using an online ticketing solution from Kaizen. Easy to use as tickets can either be printed at home or you can use your smartphone to scan at the turnstile. As well as selling tickets for future matches we also use the platform to sell tickets for future club events. southportfc.ktckts.com/

I spoke to 30 odd people yesterday about when I went down to the office after the last home match for a Macclesfield ticket and they wouldn't give me one because they'd been put back in the safe. To a man they were appalled that they couldn't be arsed opening the safe and giving me one. I'll be doing some decorating on Monday and be wishing Macclesfield all the best because we can only dream of achieving what they've done this season. Can anyone imagine a Chester player scoring a goal like their second yesterday .... no chance. I bet Askey would probably improve Akintunde and Dawson .... well maybe not, lol.

Just shows what is achievable with the right people in place.

Online ticket sales is something discussed at one of the commercial working group meetings. I also want to see Season Tickets be made available for sale via the club shop website also.
There is a problem apparently with the way the site was setup originally. They had a number of problems with the online ticket sales for the fundraising game the other month. Club shop site will probably need to go offline for a week at the end of the season to be updated correctly.
I will be asking for a progress update on it at the next meeting.

Just shows what is achievable with the right people in place. And plenty of money to spend. Not always about the money. Some of the FREE initiatives which have galvanised the club and the local community include: Free season tickets to all primary school children Foodbank collection point at stadium Southport 70 launched (similar to "The Pitch") over 100 businesses attended A vision for the future Volunteer of the month initiative Calendar of events
We could learn a hell of a lot from them, the website screams COMMUNITY CLUB with actions to back it up.

All of those, along with the stadium redevelopment plans, have been announced since major backers Phil Hodgkinson and Ian Kyle joined the board along with Natalie Atkinson being appointed as CEO. It just goes to show what can happen when you have the right people running a club. Although as dmcnally has rightly said we have spent an astronomical amount of money rebuilding the squad mid-season.
