I've asked this in another thread but can someone please work out the games and goals conceded when Hughes and Astles have played centre back compared to Astles and Hudson? I bet it's shocking.

Why can't you work it out? Its gone from about 0.5 goals a game to 2.5 and the manager either cant ,or wont see it

Regardless of that argument, the side that started last night was arguably the best side we could have put out.

Why not Killock at right back? Drop Hudson and play Hughes and Astles in the middle. Hunt left back. Lloyd, Durrell, Joyce, Horwood Alabi, Richards.

Send Hudson back to Wrexham he's garbage, was at fault for 2 of Tranmeres goals, get rid.

Hughes at CH for 10 games one goal conceded. Hudson at CH always 2,3 or 4 goals conceded. These statistics don't lie.
If Hughes had not been pushed to the right we'd have, still had a 'live' season.

Unfortunately we have 3 right-backs with fitness issues. I do wonder if we might have coped better with Hudson as the stand in RB though and Hughes at CB.

I don't think he is suited to play right back, you have to be comfortable on the ball and have good distribution he has none of these attributes. For me he is fine as a third choice centre back

It's borderline delusional to look at those stats to be honest. You've taken a record that was literally the best run of form defensively in our 'Pheonix' club history and compared it with no real statistic..... and sound, rather funnily, like you're blaming Hudson alone for the downturn in our form since before Christmas. What you're suggesting is so shortsighted. I'm going to presume you've seen every match home and away this season (rightly or wrongly). If this was the case you's see the whole team was playing better, tracking back better, and working harder, while we had the incredible defensive run. There was times you'd find Kane Richards in a full back position while defending to protect that clean sheet record. They were all fighting for it, Astles was a mountain. Since we lost before Christmas, the form of everybody has dropped, with the exception of maybe Alabi. Sam Hughes himself had a couple of poor games, one of which his mother saw fit to defend him and say he was unwell on social media. I'm not suggesting that Hudson is incredible, and Hughes should be behind him in the pecking order, that clearly isn't the case. But to look at those stats and say stats and suggest Hudson at CB is the reason is so wrong.
