There are never "enough" threads about this lad. A true captains performance last night and fair play to JMc for giving him the armband. Can we not tie the lad into a contract but still agree with him that we'll definitely sell him in the summer? He's worth a thousand tribunal fees.

Yes a great move to make him captain on live tv. Its a shame he wasn't playing in the centre with Astles in the second half as Hudson was targeted by Tramere I felt. Lets hope we get a good fee for him.

No doubt he is a class act and sadly won't be with us next season. We certainly need to use that money wisely.....I'd like to see it firstly cover the projected loss, secondly finally sort the disabled facilities out which we have been banging on about for years, and give the rest to Macca to build the squad. I just worry that we won't get this money until very late in the transfer window and we miss out on targets.

I think last night may have added £30-50K to Sam's value. The Captain's armband, a very assured display and the great marketing of him through being live on TV and constantly talked about.

I'd be surprised if we got a fee for the lad, after the shit show with Hennegan last year.

It would jeopardise his chances of a move because any buying club would then have to pay a higher fee to us. As it it stands he's also better placed to negotiate higher wages and signing on fee with a new club. Same goes for Alabi, who will leave for nothing when his contract ends. Shame, but wish them both all the best.

Think Hughes is a cert to leave this summer. I just hope we are fairly compensated but I'm confident we will be, he's clearly an outstanding talent.
Alabi, we may just have a chance if we can convince him that he's developing incredibly well by playing football every week. He's settled and the first name on the teamsheet, unless a big club comes in then I'd say we at least have a chance.

Does anyone know if sell on clauses can be involved in tribunals? That for me will be the most important thing for the club.

I hope so re Alabi, but why would he stay here if he's offered a full time contract with a league 2 club or a better deal with someone in our league? God forbid he might even end up going down the road. Think he's enjoying being he and it's been good for him to get a full season at one club under his bet but no doubt he's developing into a good player. Most weeks fans of other clubs are complimentary about him and he's been noticed by scouts. If you are a player you have to take these offers when they come along... no place for sentiment. Barnet were after Alabi so why wouldn't they just offer him a deal as soon as he's out of contract here.

We need the money from Hughes for right back and a Centre-half. Losing Alabi for nothing is a great worry.

It was great to advertise Sam Hughes wearing a captains armband on the TV and he put in another great shift. We have a chance of keeping Alabi. He's happy here and does well in the community. However, a football league club are likely to snap him up as they are full time. Hope he stays.

Boosting the players status in the squad will only help when it comes to tribunal.

Alabi is 22 so will be subject to a tribunal if he leaves (cut off is 24)and tribunals normally involve sell on clauses

Two of Tranmeres goals would have been better defended if Hughes was at centre half. Hudson let the player go for the second. He would also have dealt with the second ball for their winner better.

Alabi is 22 so will be subject to a tribunal if he leaves (cut off is 24)and tribunals normally involve sell on clauses A tribunal is for a player we have raised through our academy, we have very little evidence to suggest we have developed him from an academy. No tribunal I'm afraid he'll be off for free.

No tribunal I'm afraid he'll be off for free. There will be a tribunal but it'll be peanuts. Although we could argue that we've developed him into a league level footballer, but it'll still be peanuts and probably a lot less than was offered in January. Kingsley James went to a tribunal after only a season with us and didn't come through our academy.

No tribunal I'm afraid he'll be off for free. This is a misconception, a tribunal is for any player under 24. One glaring example for you is that James went to Halifax via a tribunal. I can cite many more and the full rules.
