This discussion has already been had and those that it doesn't effect have shouted it down. It's clearly been an error in the calculations, now being spun as 'someone needs to pay for the reductions elsewhere in pricing'.

It would be good to know if it is a cock-up or logically thought through. Perhaps they thought we old duffers were too far gone to notice or too rich to care. We are customers just like everyone else.

Quite simple, it clearly isn't fair. I think the season ticket prices, this issue apart, are well priced. But to increase the price per game for pensioners, students and the unemployed after a relegation is a very strange move. I personally would have thought that, alongside the kids tickets, these are the tickets that would be most protected as they are bought by some of the poorest sections of society.
I can't get my head around why this would be agreed. I think it was most probably a mistake whereby they simply didn't calculate the price per game and once those prices were published it was too late to row back on it, hence the "somebody has to pay for fully employed adults to have a price cut" nonsense.

Put it another way. Why should the 'oldies' usually with much more disposable income than working people with mortgages to pay/ kids to bring up etc pay less than the standard rate anyway?

Not just the oldies, it’s the students and unemployed. Would be interested to hear if it is a mistake or there was genuine thought behind the idea. If it is a mistake, there is plenty of time before the season starts to rectify it.

This is a well promoted myth! “More disposable income than working people” Certainly not in my case, and and a lot of people of my age I know.

Its not just oldies though is it ?, its jobless + carers, what I don't get is why should the armed forces get a discount. Because we spend months at a time away from our homes & families protecting the interests & citizens of the United Kingdom. Because when the private sector creams in we get dicked to work security on the olympics. Because when there’s flooding we get called in off leave to help save people’s homes. Because when the fire brigade strike (which we don’t have the option to do btw) we have to cover them as well. Tit.

I have spent years away from my family so you can be safe with yours. I have sacrificed a lot in my life, so you may live free. I have done these things because I swore an oath to the country. Thanks Chester FC for allowing me to have a discount to attend matches. Just for your info Sumo the armed forces are recruiting all of the time and we even have a careers office in Chester so maybe you could join HM Forces and get a discount to. Thanks in advance for your service.

Please, for the love of the club can some of you stop moaning? The deal for the the kids is great and surely the future fan base of the club is paramount. The already addicted fan base should be happy to accommodate that in their season ticket price for the coming season? There is no magic money tree at CFC!

I have never known so many negative FREAKS. Are you a board member Sumo, or somebody closely associated with the board? Have no idea who you are but I personally find the majority of your postings on here over personal, defensive and with an air of superiority on here. Surely we can debate certain issues without resorting to abuse?

No I’m quite happy with my career choice, thanks for asking. Yes I think all the groups you mentioned do, nice of you to highlight them as being very important parts of our country. With out them we would be up the creek without a paddle.

No, it’s a gesture of gratitude from the club & the community for serving your country. There’s certainly a strong argument that they do but regardless, you asked a the question & I answered it comprehsively.
